i'm seaching for an T1 amp.

i heard about Woo WA2 & Decware CSP-2    bffbb dv

..and should be a heaven match but I'm looking for solid state amp

why SS ?

-i hate to boil my living room at summertime

-and because I'm a green guy and don't want to pay for a D+ category electrical device in my household the extra bill. (saving $$$$$ for sr-009)

-i refuse to buy every year tubes

i heard that Matrix M-Stage
is relatively nice for the prize but it should be in a higher-league than that (in regard to the T1 quality)

between 300-1000$

(i don't have money now, but i have to inform my briefcase about the possible risk factors in the far future)

Thanks

My Audio GD NFB3/C-2.1 setup pairs pretty well with T1, on my opinion. The DAC/Amp combo is a little bit on the warmish side, which goes very well with T1.

thanks, will considering Audio GD too.

i found a few others. anybody familiar with these ?

amp's:

tu WA2
tu Decware CSP-2+
ss phoenix 2000

tu MAD Ear+HD
ss concerto
ss rp010b

tu Schiit Valhalla
tu DNA Sonett
tu Mapletree Super II
tu Crack
tu Zana Deux
ss Graham Solo ultra linear
ss Meier Concerto
ss Signature 30.2 Red Wine Audio
ss Audio GD C-2.1

ss Matrix M-Stage
tu Dark voice 339

dac's:

HRT Music Streamer II
Mini-I

Isabellina Red Wine Audio
Audio GD NFB3

right now I have a Unison Simply II amplifier (tube).

What happens if I connect the T1 to the Unison ?

Should I only buy a nice DAC first and use the headphone with my Simply II until buy something great headamp ?

I've heard these three amps with the T1, and all are good choices.  IMO, you really need a good OTL tube amp to bring the best out of the 600-ohm Beyer headphones -- while you may have some success with a solid-state amp, I don't think you'd be pushing the T1 to its maximum potential.

Of these three amps, I'd say the WA2 is a cut above the other two with the T1 -- better clarity, imaging, soundstage, detail, noise floor, etc.

What about the WA3? http://bit.ly/a5ytTU

Certainly just within my budget. I'm still on the fence whether I want to upgrade my Pro 900's. I'm still unhappy with its recessed mids so I'm possibly keen to try a set of top tier cans, with the T1 as my "top 3".

why rp010b?  1)rudistor is one of the most hated brand here at head-fi for the past few years and 2)rp010b has been discoutinued and 3)it's a ss amp

Jan Meier recommended my Nuforce HDP because I have

NO source and

NO preamp and

NO DAC.

and NO nothing :)

And I need flac compatibility for my T1 system right now. So maybe he is right that I should consider something handy first for T1 and few years later buy high-end stuff.

Anybody familiar with T1 through Nuforce HDP ?

I know it's not the one which T1 deserves but for start my first time session... just right. Is it ?

What is opinion about that ?

no source? I guess you're using FLACs from your pc/laptop? If so, I think there's a Meier Stagedac(DAC)/Concerto(AMP) combo on head-fi FS section at the moment. You could do a lot worse then that.....

so you mean HDP is too weak for T1 ?

Didn't try HDP, but my expectation is that it can power T1 without much problem. But there's always better in audio. I'm not sure how much HDP cost, sorry, but I do know 1000 usd for the Meier set is a great value. Same goes for the Audio GD NFB-3/C-2.1 combi.

But I can't contribute on the HDP, sorry.

The highest volume on HDP wont sound too loud on T1. but of course loud enough. U won't bear the highest volume. But with that much volume the source wont be clean enough

HDP would be for me approximately 550 dollar here in EU (with shipping).

I think that's already a difference in prize.

I found HDP review and there was mentioned a nice synergy between HDP-T1 combo.

http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/nuforce14/hdp.html

Can anybody confirm that ?

Like I mentioned a few pages back I did end up with the EML 274B, and have been listening to it for some days. It's a stunning looking tube, and I'm pretty satisfied with the sound too, however I will likely order an EML 5U4G soon anyway, just because I can't resist the temptation to compare tongue_smile.gif

My only complaints about the EML 274B (except for the price) are that the highs are too "sharp" for some rock music. And also it appears to me that vocals are somewhat recessed. I have some NOS tubes on the way, but from the selection I already have, I actually prefer RCA 5U4G, and even the Sino 274B for rock. However for any other kinds of music I prefer the EML 274B.

I have the older WA3+ model and t sounds fantastic with the T1's. It easily drives to them and gave them what they need ;)

Thanks Zombie.

I'm very new to the Woo Audio line up. Could you please briefly explain the differences between the model you have, as opposed to the version I linked to? And curious if they accept walk in buyers as I will be in NY in September. Cheers mate.
