I've had mine for a couple of months and I'm 17883. Seems the numbers depend on where you buy more so than when.

I bought mine new in the UK (through Amazon) last week. Number 18433.

New light weight Norne Cable really has me re-appreciating the T1... it has been getting some head time over the LCD-X recently.  Mostly for the light weight but the sound is no slouch either.

I think I begin to like the T1. Probably the reason I didn't like it at all at first is because I am so used to the HD800 and its immense soundstage & imaging, but I guess the T1 is by no means a bad cans.

Hi guys, am I crazy if I say the T1 is easier to listen to with bad recorded music than the HD800?

You may be crazy. Saying that the T1s are more forgiving than HD800 is not crazy. But you still might be crazy. Like me.

+1 (but in a Head-Fi way). That dammed apple - always just out of reach.

Thats the whole point: dangle something just out of reach, but not infinitely far away... in the sense of "I'm never going to spend more than €300 on a headphone. OK, €400 is just ok, but not a cent more. Well, €600 is just such a good deal on this one..." -- you get the point ;-) It's how you get sucked past that point of diminishing returns and don't even notice it ;-)

Nevertheless I keep coming back to the T1, its sonic qualities just match well with my preferences. Could never warm up to the HD800... Just too... perfect I guess.

Ear pads! I need new earpads!  Just kidding, but are there special earpads designed just for the T1? Since all I the pads I see on amazon are for DT770/880/990. Granted, they're exactly the same in side, but I know from experience that DT770, 880 and 990 all have slightly different pads, varying in inner cirlce diameter, thickness, depth and stiffness. So which exactly are the right ones for the T1? Anyone has a product number or a link maybe? Thanks!

On the Beyerdynamic website I could only find one set of pads that names the T1 as compatible: EDT 990 VB

http://www.beyerdynamic.de/shop/hah/ersatzteile/ohrmuschelsatz-76.html

Cannot find a translation of that page though.

I recently replaced mine. The only ones available with the official Beyer number are the ones labeled for the 990. They fit perfectly and feel just like the original but I can swear that the inside diameter is every so slightly smaller. I cross checked with the Beyer part number and they are the right pads. Maybe I am just imagining that the inside is smaller.
