Thanks a lot. You ve made my day and bass understatement is relative..sorry..

Haha surely I did, I didnt mean to talk bad on T1. I love it^^ it's not lack of bass at all. T1 sounds neutral and rounder with warm sound. Super clear mid/high, huge soundstage. tight bass. bt somewhat a lil bit lack of quantity for basshead like me. I listen to hip hop. So T1 isn't the right one for it.

just curious, what are you amping the t1?  by the way, bass isn't everything, even for rap.

Yeah, I amping it with WA 6 SE which is a powerful tube amp. Yeah I know. HIP HOP needs well controlled deep, tight bass.. that's why I dun think D7000 is suitable as well since I found its bass is uncontrolled, and distorting mids/highs. Still T1 is a lil bit treble hot and bass shy with hip hop. D5000/Ed.8/LCD 2 do better job IMO.

He is right, the T1 does not have a large quantity of bass. It's bass neutral, or perhaps slightly above or below that. The bass quality however is top notch, and these were never intended to be bass heavy cans, nor would I take them for Rap/Hip Hop. The kind of sound they do provide (natural, engrossing, beautiful) is simply marvelous once you grow to appreciate it. Took me quite some time too. I will say, however, that the HE500 is almost the exact same kind of sound but with significantly more bass quantity, and at $400 cheaper, though at the expense of comfort.

And tupac my man, did you just say the D5000 has better bass than D7000? How?

No. D7000 has actually same deep, tight bass as D5000, but more controlled (still not controlled well enough IMO). I say D5000 does better job simply because of its warmer sound. D7000 is for me really bright which produces lots of sibilance when I listen to hip hop.

I see. Well, no wonder the LCD-2 is your love.

I agree.

Ditto -- these new T1s (46xx) have great, robust bass.  I was originally planning to hang onto my DT990/600 as my fun, bassy headphone -- not anymore!  The bass on this new pair of T1s is nearly as strong as that on the DT990s, as well as being tighter and more articulate.  Great stuff!

More fuel to the fire -- here's a ranking of bass quantity in the various Beyers I've had over the past year:

DT990/600 > T1 (46xx) >> DT880/600 > T1 (19xx)

The two T1s I had really were that different.
