We'll see. I'll compare them to the HD800 and Audeze LCD XC both of which I am very familiar with and both of which had flagship quality sound, even though I subjectively didn't like the frequency signature of the XC. Of course I'll also compare them to cheaper cans that I know like the SRH840, SRH940, SRH1840 and HD600.

Based on the "free market" that someone mentioned and praised earlier, it seems highly unlikely that a product that has to be sold for $720 or so to clear inventory can be as good as those that easily sell for $1,500 and up. But we'll see. I have very careful listening tests that I do.

That being said, even if I like them I'll probably have to return them and get a cheap one, of which there are a ton floating around on the internet including perfect condition slightly used models.

Could it be possible that I started the review by noting the MSRP issue, and then updated it later?

Edit: I better get out of this thread before I say something that gets me in trouble with the mods.

Hi guys, I hope I am not too much off-topic given the last 5 pages of this thread.

Just a quick word to share with you.

I replaced the ear pads of my T1 today, the process is really easy and they look like new again. Sound-wise I have to admit that there is no difference I can tell. Just that as usual, fed from my WA22, this is pure sonic bliss.

Nevertheless it may be interesting for you to know I washed the old ear pads with warm water and hand wash and they took the process really well, they too look like new now.

At the same time I also replaced the ear pads on my T70p and noticed that both are the same diameter (with different thickness). I may try my old T1 ear pads on the T70p to see how it affects isolation.

For those interested the part references are:

EDT 990 VB for the T1

EDT 70 NL for the T70p

I tried T1 pads on my T5p...and they made the T5p sound like schiit.

Amazing specificity you got there lol....

Thank you. I really tried hard to not be biased, but the headphone doesn't have what you expect from a flagship. Distortion, erratic frequency response, fatigue . . . and the build quality was not in any way more expensive looking than the HD800. It's just some plastic, metal tubes and some average leather. The Audeze, yes they were a little more expensive to make material wize with their polished wood, metal case and lush leather, but not these.

Now when someone reads the T1 reviews wondering if this is the flagship they should buy, they'll be more informed.

Man give it up will you.

Believe it or not you've added nothing at all of substance to our understanding of the T1 with you're commentary

Just in case some of you folks here don't know,

Beyerdynamic has been around a long time and there products are widely used by pros and amateurs alike.

They are a WIDELY respected company by people who actually know what they are talking about.

Of course you could continue to imagine they are some "mom and pop" fly by night BS nonsense or you could get out a little more....

Hey, I could be wrong....

It would be quite easy for you to prove it.  Write "ag8908" on a piece of paper.  Put your T1's next to the piece of paper.  Take a picture and post it here in this thread- today.

lol. this simply proves that you didn't even read my review, nor did you look at the pic I uploaded in the review with that exact information yesterday.

Sigh, something about T1 fans . . .

So, I am wrong.  You must admit it seemed rather suspicious.  Was the pic with your name included in the review earlier.  I don't recall seeing it when I read your review.

My apologies.

it has a piece of paper with ag8908 written on it.

I fully expect one of you to delete that pic, by the way.

I'm getting out of here. This thread is . . .
