are you sure about the silver?

i like so much the T1 with black dragon.

i think that the headphone now is more complete

What I'm saying is I would think a silver cable would be too hot for the T1.  But I'm just guessing.  Was wondering if anyone had recabled with silver and what their impression is.

perhaps it is better to wait for the opinion of someone.

the silver cable is too expensive.

and, more importante, is not good to open and recableb one headphone many times.

i say this for personal experience

I would have the same initial thought think but would be happy enough to be proved wrong.

some thick copper should do well.

Anyone know what material the stock cable is ? I've read 3 different reviews and they all said the stock cable is very impressive and the best stock one they've seen after they analyzed it, wonder what material it is..

I'm thinking about cutting the stock cable in half to 5 feet and reterminate to 4pin XLR then use the other 5 feet for an adapter back to 1/4.

Not too sure if I want to spend another $300+ to recable :o

Hey Saer,

Happy to see you've gotten you're T1!!

I know this is against the audiophile grain BUT I just want to let you know that I did some blind tests with my T1 and a new re-cabled T1 and couldn't tell any difference.Of course I may not be as smart or perceptive as others but just saying....

Just to be clear.

I believe the T1 should have an easily replaceable cable but in terms of sound I stand behind my previous post.

Think my next mod is converting my T1 to mini XLR and pairing it with some Q-Audio cable.  Not necessarily for the sound improvements but for the weight and comfort and interchangeability.

I think I read somewhere that it's a Cardas copper cable but I could be wrong. I know from reterminating it that it is a nice sized pure copper with separate shielded cores so I don't know how much benefit there is to be had from changing to a different copper cable (unless it's to use a smaller, lighter cable) - this might be why Perhaps heard no difference.

I also agree with other assessments that silver cables wouldn't suit the T1s as they don't need extra air or brightness and could end up losing their perfect balance of weight, warmth and air.

The cable is by Sommer Cable in Germany, and the cable material is OFC.

Ahh yes you are correct.

"On the cable I find the writing:
Peacock MK II – 2x2x0,22mm2 (AWG24) – Audio [aes/ebu] – OFC – by SOMMER CABLE Germany. The cable is terminated in Neutrik’s 1/4 connector. A surprise, since Beyers usually makes their own connectors."

I think I will in fact just reterminate my stock cable, rather than recable. In this case..

Oh, thanks. Not sure where I got the Cardas idea from.

Good idea (based on my experience doing the same). It's a really easy cable to work with and reterminate and the fact that the supplied Neutrik plug can be removed and reused on an adapter lead is a huge plus!

Beyer's own website says they are Nuetrik connectors.

PAY ATTENTION!

Of course  you can pay someone with "experience" to fix it...
