The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread - Page 395

^I love transitioning between the LCD2 to T1 after some time. Makes you realize how small and intimate the LCD2 soundstage is ultimately, but also how amazing its bass is.

Listening to Bridge of Sighs by Robin Trower, recommend this to anyone who would like a well mastered old 70s hard rock artist. The bass guitar is delicious and Robin's playing it out of the world.

Just to throw this out, the new LCD-X has imaging on par (and maybe even wider/deeper) than the T1s.

I was excited reading the announcement for the LCD-X, the aluminum ear cups! Then I read the price of $1700, ouch.

Considering the price I paid for my T1, $860 with shipping, the comfort, and the sound from my brief listening, I think I made the right choice. I'm happy. smily_headphones1.gif

Eventually I hope I can give the Audeze a listen and compare.

Like the LCD-3s...quite good. Not as good as the T1s, but better than the LCD-2s. I can use them for hours without issue.

are they slightly easier or harder to drive than the 3's do you think? I am getting a Glenn OTL with voltage switch and 6080/6336 power tubes. I might get an audeze headphone.

Much easier to drive...they sound great out of my iPad directly or even from my lowly FiiO portable amp. That's one of the improvements with them...really efficient drivers!

Jesus don't say that - i might have to get them then! Is it possible to get wooden cups for them or would that change the sound too much? Sorry for the off topic.

Here is an amazing T1 album -

I wasn't thrilled with with LCD X at the meet, I didn't listen long so I could have just not really gotten a good impression. Clarity was good though.

I'm so torn between trading my T1 for an HD800 or not. I can't decide which would be better for my music tastes, I always have the same problem lol. I feel like getting a tube amp would cause the T1 to become slow and boring.

I should be able to audition the LCDX sometime in January/December. I've got hearing the HE-6, LCDX, HD800, Alpha Dog, OPPO and the new AKG on my mind. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a HD800 in the next month or two based on my last audition, mainly for classical listening. I'll look into the LCDX at that time. I probably could get both down the line and might sell off the LCD2.2.

glenn otl works ok, but i personally prefer my gsx for planars.

WA2 and T1 is one of the best combos i've heard. and definitely not slow.

Well yea that makes sense because its the GSX MK2! I didnt think the OTL would compete with that but how about the WA6-SE does the Glenn come close to that with audeze? Either way im not to bothered about the planars for another while. I will worry about it next year ;)

not sure, but i dont think so, the WA6-SE is slightly better with planars just beccause the otl maeks the sound warmer. but overall, i think it might. in other words, i wouldn't use the otl for planars.

btw did u already place your order with glenn?
