But I'm actually going to try and not listen to them until next week-- after I get my ears cleaned. I have a periodic and annoying serious ear wax build up in my right ear that occasionally needs a hydrogen peroxide blast by a professional. Afterward, hearing becomes wonderful again.

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but how does the T1 work with the lower-end Woo amps? What do you all think would be the best tube amp match for the T1's under $1,000?

Generally speaking, I've found the 600-ohm Beyerdynamic headphones pair really well with OTL tube amps.  This would make the Woo WA2 and WA3 good choices.  The Schiit Valhalla isn't a bad choice either.

I love this combo myself.

I noticed today that on my T1 when adjusting the headband only the left side is stiff, the right side is much looser, is this normal?. To adjust the headband on the left side, I have to use some force and there is a "click" sound for each notch, on the right side adjusting the band takes little force and there is not a "click" for each notch rather a muted thump.

Is it designed that way, so that one side is stiffer? Or is my headphone band "broken"?

The WA2 is the best amp I've tried with the T1s -- better than the Lyr, WA6, WA6SE, Concerto, Mapletree Ear+ HD, Mapletree Super II, Audio-GD C2, Audio-GD NFB-12... I think that's it.  etysmile.gif

I think if anyone is trying to decide between the WA2 and WA3 I would go for the WA2 hands down, The WA2 is simply a much better amp for the T1's. The only reason I don't have a WA2 is because of space limitations where I have my gear :(

I was hoping not to hear that, lol. I like the slim, more compact design of the 3 and 6 (space-challenged here too), and the better price. Sonically, how exactly does the 2 excel? Do you still get the same basic sonic virtues between the 2 and the lesser Woo's, like the way the DT880 is not the T1, but it's still pretty good and shares a similar signature? Or are the differences 'night and day' pronounced, where one will regret 'settling' with the 3 or 6 and wish they saved up some more?

I guess if I hear some folks say that they are content with the 3 or 6 and the T1's-- that's more what I hope to hear, lol.

Thanks again for the thoughts.

I did hear the 6 and ^SE on the T1 and much preferred the Decware amp to them. My T1 shipped today should have it tomorrow. The 880 is still here.

Yes the WA2 and T1 are a match made in heaven...and yes I do have one for sale on the F/S forum, but I really would like to hold onto it until next week when I can A-B it with my incoming WA22. I will report back when I'm done.

LoL...2 reasons:

1.) No more room on my rack to store them.
2.) My wife

shouldnt 1 and 2 be switched, and then two taken out since only 1 matters?

The WA2 and WA3 carry nearly the same sonic signature but the WA2 is like a WA3 on crack. The dynamics are better, the bass, treble, midrange are all improved and the soundstage expands even more.
