If you are looking at the eBay open box via Razordogaudio they are as good as new!  A very reliable dealer by the way.

I am considering that option...did you order from them yourself?

I'm about to place an order for T1's. A moment of silence for my wallet.

You won't regret the purchase. I bought mine used from a member on the forum about 1 year ago. Best audio purchase I ever made.

Ditto. Also bought mine second hand (only recently) and have loved every second of the T1 experience more than I ever expected!!

My secondhand T1 has been going since early 2011, no problems with anything on them. Sound as amazing as any store demo models which are 3 more years new.

I definitely would not say they are thin, they do have a nice amount of lower mids to keep it from being analytical.

Edit:  I meant the screen..

Right, I forgot they had that screen thingy. I should have gotten off my @ss and dug out my stock Denons to have a look before posting that question. I pictured you ripping some damping material out of the T1s biggrin.gif - which again I can't recall how they look inside. Honestly my brain has gone to mush - too much booze and forum I suspect.

The T1 is the only other headphone i am interested in, so i ask you: if forced to chose between the W3000 & T1 based strictly on SQ, which one would it be? Thanks.

Actually I've never heard the TH900, but I prefer the W3K to it anyway - just to save myself a massively expensive audition biggrin.gif. Maybe I said I prefer the D7K to the looks of the TH900?

In any event, the T1s and the AT's are different beasts; open vs closed, neutral U-ish vs mid-centric, super-comfy vs kind of goofy. If there can be only one, I'd easily keep the T1 - partly because it's a better all 'round headphone, but mostly because it pairs so beautifully with the Woo2 to produce my what has become my favourite sound signature. I'm probably not the best person to answer this question because I love the T1-Woo2 pairing more than is healthy. But I have never felt disappointed with the T1s (except when I first got them and immediately put the Jmoney leather pads from my 880s on them tongue.gif) .

If I didn't have the Woo2 I think I'd likely call the Beyers a great headphone but not have the same kind of passion for them. As it is - and at the moment I'm not really interested in any new gear - the T1 -Woo2 set up will be in my possession well after everything else has departed.

i plan on upgrading to WA22 soon, but i've heard that WA2 might still be a little better with the T1, so if any bit of magic is lost, the wa2 will remain in my rig forever.

I gt mine second hand about a month ago. Big issues with ,y Soloist (entirely unrelated to the T1) so I have been running em out of my Emotiva Mini a100x, which quite frankly, sucks with high impedence cans. Idk y, but I get lots of hiss and I get clicks and noises all the time. I haven't even gotten to hear them on my soloist, a pairing that many like, so I'm hoping for good when I receive the amp on Friday. smily_headphones1.gif

Side note, whoever has the HE500, the T1 won't sound thin as it has plenty of bass when needed, it might sound a bit bright at times but definitely not thin IMHO
