Good call, Frank. The T1s are still my favorite cans. I tried the HD800s and wasn't converted, so I sold them. I prefer the T1s to my LCD-2s, which I like well enough to keep around for a while longer. I just got the HE-500s on Monday, and I must say they're the closest competitor to the T1s I've heard so far. Only time will tell what stays and what goes... but I'm pretty sure the T1s are going nowhere.

I wish you would make your mind up biggrin.gif

#3829 here!

But I'm actually going to try and not listen to them until next week-- after I get my ears cleaned. I have a periodic and annoying serious ear wax build up in my right ear that occasionally needs a hydrogen peroxide blast by a professional. Afterward, hearing becomes wonderful again.

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but how does the T1 work with the lower-end Woo amps? What do you all think would be the best tube amp match for the T1's under $1,000?

reports are that the T1 sound good on the Woo W3. I use the Decware CSP-2 and it is a synergy I have yet heard bested but they are 899.00 still under a 1K

Does it mean WA3 would be best choice in this price range?

As for DAC, I already have a Burson HA-160D and was thinking of using it as a DAC if I decide to buy another amp. Not saying I HAVE decided to buy another amp as it will depend on how much I like T1s with HA-160D, but am trying to do some research while I am waiting for the cans.

well, some guy like wa3 better(Zombie_X), some guy like 337 better(Skylab) and some guys like 337 but never heard wa3(me).......i know i'm not helping but sometimes you just have to gamble a little bit.  one thing though, you still have t5p right?  i don't like 337 with t5p at all.

I still have T5ps, indeed, but I put them on sale after burning in DT1350s. After a few long trips I decided that I prefer smaller footprint over ultra-high quality. I listen more when I have small cans with me than better, but also biger ones. I am trying to downsize m collection to make space for T1s ;)

EDIT: I am not unhappy about all the opinions at all. I first need to listen to T1s via HA-160D and if I do not like what I hear I will start panicking and making decision really fast. For now I am just trying to see what is available and what people say about the choices.

I own the WA22 but have listened to the T-1's on a WA6 and they sounded great!

I really liked the T1s with the Lyr. I personally preferred the Lyr over the WA6SE with Beyers.

While I have not personally tried the WA3/T1 combo, I would suspect that the WA3's sound signature (somewhat similar to the WA2) would make it a good choice as well.

I have read there is great synergy with the T1 and WA2. I saw one on the FS forum for about $850. If I hadn't just bought so much other stuff, I would be buying that. smily_headphones1.gif
