I'll give it a try but so far none of the plugins worked as good as dolby headphone drivers that come with the asus soundcards.

I've had it for quite some time, I use it in a speaker setup only though. But it works great, its sort a very musical, liquid, smooth sounding DAC, without losing any detail or clarity. But its really not much better than the cheaper V-DACII paired with a V-PSU.  That's basically the only major difference between them, M1 has a better power section. And of course it has a bigger, heavier metal case, which, once you open it, you realize is almost completely empty inside and could have easily been 1/5th the size.

+1 decent dac but not necessarily the best value on the market

Yea, definitely not worth 800$. I got mine used 2 years ago for 400, thats a fair price I think. I heard the V-DACII later and was surprised it was pretty much totally identical sonically.

You have to calibrate it yourself, check out the manual for instructions.

TBIsone works perfectly with Jriver. I use it. I do not use it all the time only occasionally, but it works very well with Jriver.

Whatever setting I change it makes no difference. Other plug ins work normally, isone has no effect. I tried reinstalling it a couple of times but doesn't work anyway.

i had a choice to buy the M1 or a used PS Audio DL III a couple years back. though the DL III was older, i'm glad i got that instead since i still think its a really good DAC, it was cheaper than the M1 as well (and after it was discontinued, same price as bifrost or dacmagic), obviously it destroys the dacmagic and the older bifrost.

at $799 i'd probably go for a used W4S DAC-1 or a used rega dac

Speaking of the M1 dac had anyone tried the M1HPA with the T1. Here in the UK the M1 range are much better value as there both £400 so the M1 dac is cheaper than a bifrost new

Question:

T1+Wa2 for 1700.00 usd

             OR

T1+ Meier Corda Classic for roughly 50 usd more

For primarily classic rock,metal...lossless files some 320 mp3

Which is the better deal and why?

good deal, unfortunately I live in thailand and after paying import taxes on the item, not to mention the risk of damage or theft intransit its not really a viable option for me...that being said regardless of whether or not the price im paying is a good price or not(gotta sacrifice a bit to live here) which of these 2 pairings will work best for my musical tastes?

I personally think the WA2 will suit you more, it has a nice lush and rich tone that will bring out the vocals and guitar. Plus, if you dont like it the WA2 should have a better resale value.
