They broker as a result of user error.  This is clear.

The cut out design may have contributed to the failure.  On the other hand, this is the only report of failure which, again, points to the user.

Beyerdynamic will almost certainly perform the repair under warranty as a goodwill gesture.

Yes..  Sounds good using the Balanced output.  Sounds horrible using the SE output.  IMO..

I'm considering the Meier DACcord and the Audio-gd 11.32. I'm currently using a DIY tube amp with C4S with a musiland 01 2012 (pcm5102) DAC. They sound good but I'm curious if it can get better.

My tube amp is not that warm IMO, could be the C4S module.

What do you guys recommend? I'm looking into the Meier combo too if it's better to change the amp too

A few of us have recently bought some Meier gear and we're thrilled with the results. I can't speak to how well other headphones would pair with it, but the T1s thrive with these little black boxes. My T1s sounded great before, but they're now doing things for the first time - most notably, they're throwing a sound stage that has far more depth than it did previously. Layers of sound with pinpoint imaging and separation. I highly recommend Meier for anyone who has T1s.

Since I had the Meier Corda Jazz prior to this upgrade, it was clear to me that the Daccord was the star of the show. I do feel the Corda Classic is the better amp vs the Jazz, but it's not a night and day upgrade. I've never really been one to believe that the DAC makes that much difference, but in this case I have to attribute the majority of the improvements I'm hearing to the Daccord vs the budget DAC I had been using. And, or course, Jan's crossfeed circuit is worth it's weight in gold...I love the subtle impact it has on the presentation and I really can't imagine being without it now.

I can't really speak to how well it would match with a tube amp, unfortunately, since I've only paired it with my Jazz and Classic. My experience thus far is that this is an excellent DAC that is a bit under the radar, and several others have echoed that sentiment in the Daccord thread. I find this to be an exceptional piece of gear that I will have in my system for a long time to come.

You may want to send Jan Meier an email with regard to matching the Daccord to a tube amp, in addition to getting more feedback from our fellow HeadFi-ers. Jan is very responsive and helpful...I've been his customer for over a year and he always gets back to me in short order.

I actually bought the Meier DAC/Amp together, as they are discounted as a pair. The DAC/Amp provides a surprisingly warm sound.  I just received mine yesterday so I'm still playing around with the cross feed settings.

The T1 really blossoms with the Meier pair. I primarily listen to older and newer Rock and the bass and sub bass really resonate with the solid state juice.  The T1 transparency is further accentuated with the wider soundstage that the Meier stack provides.

I plan to try the DAC with my midlevel tube amp, but it would be interesting to see how a higher end tube amp would pair with the DAC.

I think the DAC is the star here.
