Which of his songs Dubstep Girl?  I'd appreciate some good ref songs to help me get to know my new T1's.....anyone else please chime in.  I have my own list but they all had to do with my old headphones.  New ones that really show what the T's can do would be much, MUCH appreciated !!!  May I thank you all in advance.

Edit:  One I stumbled onto this morning during early burn-in that wowed me was Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You", the remastered version.  Incredible.

That's a badass portable rig, man. I need to add more Beatles music to my play list. Seems like most of my Beatles music wasn't actually performed by the Beatles lol.

That's a great choice to use as a reference artist for sure. I wish all types of music were recorded as well as singer/songwriter type stuff is. I have pretty eclectic taste, but I really enjoy this genre, and more often than not the recordings are typically very well done. And you'd know a heck of a lot more about this genre than I would, but I also notice that ALL of my DeadMau5, DaftPunk, Massive Attack, ATB, etc, etc albums usually sound fantastic. I've mentioned this in the DT1350 thread, but I will often use Massive Attack's "Angel" as a demo for those phones to show them off to coworkers (especially those who own Beats, hehe)...gives them a taste of how clean and tight the bass can sound on a quality headphone. Then I'll put on some pop top 40 song (which I've become less and less interested in as I've gotten older) and there is all this compression and whatever else...just sounds terrible.

umm most of them, i like gone, sitting, waiting, wishing, banana pancakes, taylor, upside down, dreams be dreams, really most of the ones on in between dreams and on and on.

oh and babe i'm gonna leave you is a really good one for the T1's!!!!! that song + dazed and confused are usually the only ones i listen to in the first album, though its all really good. babe i'm gonna leave you is really good on T1's though, the intro is really good.

i love electronic on T1. deadmau5 the veldt, i use that one for bass tightness and impact.  daft punk sounds especially good on T1, its the only headphone i will listen to random access memories on. massive attack i prefer on the hd 800 for some reason. ATB, above and beyond, ferry corsten, armin van buuren all sound great on T1.

check out Avicii's superlove, one of my favorites! though i prefer that one on an LCD-2, but its great on T1 as well.

See, that's exactly why I often mention your name to others in terms of asking your opinion about phones. It's become really obvious to me that you are all about the music, and your evaluation of audio gear has nothing at all to do with fanboyism or some sort of personal reason why you defend one headphone or piece of gear over another. It really seems to me that people forget the end goal of all this, and that's the enjoyment of MUSIC (and for some of us, movies, too).

This post is also a reminder of how much fun it can be to have more than one headphone kickin' around, too. Honestly, that's one of the best lessons I learned when I got into this stuff a year and a half ago. Why have just one when you can have three? haha  I wish I would have had Massive Attack available when I heard the HD800s the other week. I only had about 30 min with them, but I can imagine some of their music would sound great on those phones.

Thanks for the recommendation...gonna fire up the Avicii track here in just a sec

Ha, ha!  Did I just step into the movie "'The Minority Report?"

I do highly recommend the upgrade!  You wouldn't regret it.  Robert at Aphrodite Cu29 is a real pleasure to work with, too.

Hope you're enjoying your new T1!  beerchug.gif

Just read about your D5000's kicking the can... (No pun intended.)  What a shame!  Is there any chance that you can get them fixed?  I used to have a pair of them, and I still have a pair of 880's.  (They are mainly relegated to movie duty, and they also travel well.  I know, I know... it's laughable that a full-size headphone is my portable... especially a 600-ohm one! tongue_smile.gif)

What's been cool is that every song, no matter if I've listened to it for 45 years, is like opening up a treasure chest.

Rediscovering old friends through new ears is always joyful.  I will never tire of it!

Glad you're enjoying your new T1 so much.  They are truly wonderful cans!

Blown left side speaker.  Checked with Mark Lawton (Lawton Audio - does Denon mods) and he said he couldn't fix.  Went so far as to send them to Denon's Service HQ in Jersey...paid them $65 just for an estimate.  Waited 2 weeks to get an email from them that said "We received in your Denon AHD5000 for repair but it has been determined that the left side speaker element is blown out. Unfortunately parts are no longer available for these headphones."  That is one resourceful service center!!  Since then I've sent them 3 emails and left one voice mail to verify that they are sending them back to me and to verify what my final charges are.  Haven't heard a thing.  Soooo, yes I will miss my D5000's but it's been a real frustrating ride.  The silver lining is that their demise led me to the T1's.  I can live with that.

Edit:  BTW, tell me about the upgrade.  How much and why wouldn't I regret it, lol.  See, I KNEW this would happen !!!
