I ordered a Cavalli Liquid Fire last week!  I should have it in late May early June.

Tesla T1 arrived today.  Out of the box- very smooth, well balanced sound, realistic sound-stage, detailed,  good instrument separation, great clarity and overall definitely leaning more toward fun/musical as opposed to analytical.  They seem very well rounded and suited to my preferred genres- acoustic, indie, classic rock and movie scores. I will post more in depth impressions down the track, possibly in comparison to ED8, Pro9 and K701.

I've got it my head to sell my T-1's and buy LCD2's.  I've got the Woo WA22 and a Cavalli Liquid Fire on the way.  What to do.  I'm not a two headphone person.  Same w/guitars.  I played a Les  Paul for twelve years and after I bought the Strat the LP just sat there.  Finally I sold it because I just never played it anymore.

Hi, I'm now looking for an amp to try with the T1s.   I think from listening to them vs my AD2k and on my current equipment, I may be looking to bring the mids forward a bit, but that's just a hunch.

At any rate, I generally prefer SS, and I've seen some info on the A1 and the Benchmark.   Searching around, I couldn't find much on those pairings.  Does anyone have experience with those pairings or other suggestions on a combo that might be a winner in the $1k price range, that would provide detail with possibly a little bit of mid emphasis?

Tube amps may give you more mid emphasis.  CSP2 or W2 have been well praised here.  Otherwise, I can not find anything to compete with my Audio-GD Phoenix yet.

And T1 has quite different impedance to your AD2k, so the amp may not be dually optimized.

I'm primarily targeting this amp at the T1.  My intention is to get a combo that allows me to settle on just one set of phones.  At the moment, I think I'm better paired with the AD2ks, and there are some songs where I get the "wow" factor with the AD2ks.  However, there are some where I also go "yuck" (mostly too bright and forward on the mids)  The T1s haven't given me the wow factor on anything, but I haven't found anything that makes me go "yuck".  On the songs where the AD2ks give me the wow factor they are a little more forward on the mids and overall slightly brighter, hence my thought that I can get the T1s to get closer on those.

The idea is to get something that pairs better with the T1 and hopefully settle on them as my final phones.  (As right now I couldn't settle on the AD2Ks as a single phone)

I have 3 amps that work well with the T-1s.  The best the GS-1.  It has more resolution than either  my M^3 or my Woo3. I, t should be noted, however, that my M^3 with 637/627 chips and my a Woo3 with a Cetron tube and 2 JAN Philits 6922s have the same sound signature and I would really be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two, even sighted.  Still all three are more than suitable for the T-1.

If I could offer a suggetion, Ronrad, why don't you EQ and see if you can get the T-1s to sound the way you want them to?  If you can't, they may not be the headphones for you.

Don't think the T1 was running that nicely on the D10, nor the AD2ks. AD2k is a pair of very special phone, the airy treble and the very sweet mids, but with the wrong sound, it can sound off.

AD2k need more current than the D10 supplies to shine.
T1 need more voltage swing than the D10 can offer.

Listen both using amps that work with them, you might well change your opinions. For now I will be keeping my AD1000PRM and A2000X, so don't be surprised that you might not like the flagships over the cheaper ones.

i like it with the WA2, Naim Headline and of course the SLI-80. Naim Headline is slightly warmish. Nice amp. Don't get the Grace m902 - it's bright. T1 can get too bright. Benchmark is often regarded as a bright amp, but I've never heard it, so don't take my word for it.

Someone like the Violectric V200

I just orderedd the T1 again for my CSP-2 decware tube amp. The solid state I liked with the T1 was the Concerto and the Matrix when  had them last time this time I will just use the CSP-2 and get a flavor with the SX650 Vintage Pioneer which sounds very nice with the D7000. If you can swing an OTL I prefer the T1 with tube amps and never found my last pair bright. I been through them all and now I am back where it all statred in flagships and should hopefully be happy this time.

Congrats Frank.

I agree with your comments too...as great as the T1s sound on my Concerto, they absolutely sing with my OTL WA2.

good for u Frank. u are one of the ppl i know that actually tries out each & every piece of equipment before giving his $0.02 & am not afraid to reverse prior decisions against current trends if need be. hope the T1 works out great but regardless, i hope to hear your impressions vs HE6.

They are very close in signature to each other but I need to use the HE6 on the SX980 to get the best out of them and can use the T1 on my SET OTL CSP-2 a perfect synergy as I owned them once before and will be back where I love the most and thats my tube amps. I kept the SX650 and am using it while my Tube amps are at decware now so I have the T1 shipping tomorrow. The funny thing I went throug all the flagships and now am back exactly where I started  and should be as happy asd I was last year.
