It sounds like I'm going to need to find a higher end amp to compare against mine before I make a final comparison with the AD2k

Right now I'm going back and forth and seem to be wearing the T1s a little more. I'm really not sure my amp is doing them justice. I really don't want to buy a new amp though:)

you'll end up keeping both, AND getting a new amp L3000.gif

I've been known to fall into that trap :)  I'll definitely be trying to avoid that in this case, but we'll see.  It'll need a drastic quality difference for me to make the switch as what I've got is already quite good, although, that said, if I hear something that's a lot better and it's within or under the 1k ballpark it'll probably happen that I buy the new amp.

Does anyone actually use the metal box these came in?  I remember how cool they looked in there the day I got them.  And.............that was it.  I put it back in it's cardboard box and leave the phones out all the time.  Black pads need a lint roll every now and again.

I recently put my pads in with the wash. They came out fine after drying overnight on the radiator.  I did have the fear before I did i thoughph34r.gif

I use them for transport, that's about it. Brought them to work to let a curious coworker have a listen, then proceeded to put the metal box in my closet and keep them at home. Handy thing to have if you move I guess.

I used the metal can to put the T1 in WHILE connected and playing music to break it in while at work. You can barely hear it at loud volume in a quiet room. Kept the family happy. BTW The T1 really changed in sonic character after breakin. Looking back it sounded constricted somehow but now music just flows and the frequency extremes are fully extended. I'm very happy with my purchase!!

I received my T 1 today with Serien Number 3996 and my Headphone Amp GRAHAM SLEE SOLO ULTRA LINEAR.

I chosed Graham Slee Solo Ultra Linear, because U L sound TUBE like and very transparancy and clean Bass and very fast

transcient.

I follow the recomendation from MacedoniaHero for my T1 , he recomend me to use OTL Tube Amp.

Now i Choose solid state with Sound TUBE like follow another Head Fi Zoodar, he own Graham Slee Solo U L.

Now i am very happy with my new setting : BeyerDynamic T1 + Graham Slee Solo Ultra Linear + Cd Player Yamaha without DAC

Bass : very tight and clean and very fast transcient

Mid   : Sound like from Tube Amp , very thick and clean Mid and very sweet

High  : very extended not ROLL OFF and not harsch , what i worry before i bought my Setting.

Soundstage : is wide enough for half close can like T 1

Separation : instrument separation very good and detail

I wish can compare one day with Sennheiser HD 800

Cheers

Congratulations on your new T1s!

If you're interested on how the T1 compares to the HD800s, here's a comparison I did about 14 months ago:

I just received a pair of T-1's and am contemplating headphone amps for use with the T-1 only.

I am looking at the Bottlehead Crack, Little Dot MKIII or Decware CSP.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

The Decware CSP is a wonderful option and for a bit more $ the WA2 is fantastic with the T1s.

I read though this and would like to know how you would compare these two can s with the LCD-2 and HE-6.  Later this year I will be buying one of these and am trying to get as much information as possible.  If you could only have one of the 4 which would it be?

I prefer the LCD-2s overall out of the 4 mentioned headphones. And in the end, I do prefer (by a small margin) the HE-6s (on my Lyr amp) over my T1s.
