I'am having lot's of fun today smily_headphones1.gif Yesterday it was thinking "Hmm it sounds nice, can hear some detail, but that treble ... oh man".

Today when I switched tubes it's different story, got even better bass impact and treble issue is gone I can play my stuff as loud as I want and so far detail, separation and mainly airness of T1's are amazing.

Also as some of you guys mentioned they can play probably everything because I went from Jimi Hendrix to Slipknot and both sounds so great. At some tracks I feel like it's first time I hear them as they were recordedL3000.gif

Now I would describe T1 as combination of Grado's bass impact, HD650's crisp mids, K701's  treble airness and detail/separation of something I have never heard biggrin.gif

Amperex 6DJ8?

Though i have a different amp and my headphones are T5P's I have found great combinations of tubes in Lorenz Stuttgarts/ Siemens in the voltage gain section and in the power section either Mullards or RFT manufactured Marconi's. The Marconi's really add snap and speed as well as deeper bottom end to the proceedings/ Both the Lorenz and Siemens give air and delicacy, phenomenal with the T5P's!
I really feel the Tesla's and Tubes are a match made in heaven.

There are at least three different flavors of T1, thanks to outstanding Beyerdynamic QC.

As well as channel imbalance on some that contribute to piercing treble

But things are 10 times worse with DT1350, they all measure different and it's all over the board.

I think what we need is a dedicated thread on the forum just dealing with tubes, no matter which make or type or sort amp used as from my experience the makes of tubes sound signatures seem to be really similar no matter which type of tube is implemented. I find it fascinating and one of the most enjoyable things of late for me has been discovering about tubes through tube rolling my amp... OK, I admit it, I'm a nerd blink.gif

I'am just testing Siemens PCC189 and it looks like these are also nice match.

Bass impact on these is ... pretty strong. Was listening to "The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up" and with these tubes volume control is less sensitive (I mean u have to go further to get it as loud as on other because of this tube voltage). I was turning that volume knob more and more and when that bass came up on me I felt like I got hit by baseball bat to my head.

These headphones got some serious well controlled and impactful bass.

ps: guess I'll have to take a break now biggrin.gif

I am waiting for Siemens PCC189 also. Now, I have Orion PCC189, bass is noticeably tighter and more impactful, but reduced soundstage, less clear and more in-the-face sounding take it away from me. It's like every source sound is just in front of my face, and so knitted closey to each other that I have hard time following each source of sound. Not so much with T1 as it already has expansive soundstage, but HD600 with its medium soundstage greatly suffers from that. I do really love the bass though. If Siemens tubes do not have this problem, then I am more than happy to wait for them. :D

How is Amperex 6DJ8? Have a chance to test them out yet? I am waiting for them also. :)

Yea HD650 with Siemens PCC189 is pretty bad to my ears, mainly mids get somehow recessed and it doesn't sound right.

Tried Amperex 6DJ8 with T1 and it's confusing in many ways to me, treble isn't ok with these, bass isn't anything special .. had them in only for like 2 hours because these doesn't do it for me frown.gif

In my experience with rolling quite a few NOS tubes you really need at least 10-20 hours on them before the show their true traits. The D getter Siemens I have needed around 20 hours where they transformed from being OK tubes to become really great tubes!

I have them already burned it, they are not new.

Ah, OK then, not a lot more to be done in that case.

Funny, I'm using the Voskhod 6J1P EV and love the results with my T1. I've got a lot of tubes lying around but these Voskhod's just sing with the T1's. I guess some of us just fell into the same conclusion.
