How do you like that Vioelectric amp? Is that what you're using with the T1s?

hmmm interesting graphs. i do feel like the T1 has more deep sub bass than the LCD-2, its more present, even if the LCD-2 does indeed go a little deeper. midbass, the LCD-2 is the clear winner, has alot more punch.

i love the T1's bass, the light sub-bass emphasis and nice decay/texture makes it really good for just about any genre.

im still planning on purchasing a HE-500 to complement my T1, they should sound similar, with the HE-500 probably having slightly more bass and a warmer sound.

still trying to sell my d7000.

I've had similar thoughts. Couldn't go wrong with that I think!

Yes - I really like it, it warmed up the midrange a little and took an edge of the treble.  Great soundstaging too.  They say the T1 needs tubes to really shine, but the V200 is a really versatile amp and I'm very pleased with it.

My T1s are an untouchable in my system, as are my higher end Grados. I'm really curious to audition a planar, though, but at this point it really wouldn't surprise me if I didn't care for it. Seems like it would be a nice complement to my other headphones since I tend to prefer a slightly brighter presentation, whereas the LCDs are different. It would never be in place of the T1s, though...I love my T1s. In fact, I'm currently in research mode for amps that will specifically benefit the T1s since I know they scale up.

If you can, try the Soloist. It was absolute eargasm when I tested the T1 with it.

And I loved them so much that I'm considering buying the T1 to complete my headphones collection.

Nice, that's one of the amps that was recently suggested to me, so appreciate the feedback.

Fishbone: Those Bursons are beautiful...I was drooling for a good while when I first read about that new Conductor amp...the Soloist looks like an amazing piece. Glad to know it has such great synergy with the T1s!

Has anyone tried the T1's with La Figaro 339? Looking to purchase this baby soon

What do you think of the Conductor's DAC section vs. the Mertram Octave, into the Soloist or Conductor amp, with the T1?

Thanks,

Mike

+1

For the record, despite my love of the LCD-2 bass performance, I prefer the T1 with my Soloist, and the LCD-2 with my DACMini CX with 1-Ohm output impedance mod.  The 1-Ohm DACmini CX has slightly edgier highs, less warmth, and a more forward presentation than the Soloist.   The DACmini is borderline harsh for the T1, but perfect for the LCD-2, which is itself warm and dark, with shelved highs.

The Soloist's sweeter, yet still very detailed highs are perfect for the T1, taking away all hints of harshness, with plenty of power to drive the T1 well.  The bass is tight, real tight, just not as energetic as the LCD-2, which honestly, is not as accurate as the bass of the T1.

I am still going thru the burning-in process with the Octave but have already fallen in love with its sound. Its rich and organic, just something a little different.I am not a tube guy but both the Octave and Conductor sound a little tubey, the Octave somewhat more, the Conductor somewhat less.

The DAC in the Conductor is also great, perhaps a little more precise and lively. To be fair I avoid usb connections in favor of coax to avoid all the driver problems related to usb.I do that with all dacs, not just the one in the Conductor.

Very much like both....

My pads just arrived today and I completely agree. The pads are slightly too thick and main problem is it doesn't let enough air in which makes the T1 sound muffled. However the pads are wonderful with my DT48s.

Recently bought a HE6 to compliment my T1s' then after a while I felt somewhat the HE6 did better in most regards provided you have them properly amped. So I plan to sell my WA2/T1 combo to buy a really good power amp and upgrading my current speaker setup seeing as the next possible headphone upgrade would be SR009s which are still very far away.
