I thought it comes with leather earpads?

The T5p has leather earpads :)

The LCD-2s are my favourite headphones to date. They reproduce music exactly as I would expect to hear it if I were there in the studio or concert hall. The HD800s are fantastic and great cans. Kinda hard how I would fit them it with the rest. But all are great world class headphones.

It's seems that the HE6 are amazing headphones with the right gear. Could you describe how the HE-6 treble is better balanced (how do they compare about quantity and tonal balance?).

And what about the confort?

The T1's treble is a bit too rolled off (not pushed back, but rolled off) when compared to the extension on the HE-6s. And the amazing thing about the HE-6s, the treble never comes off as sizzly or strident. Comfortwise, the HD800>T1>>LCD-2>HE-6s with my melon. biggrin.gif

I thought that the LCD's were the ones with the relaxed treble? Are you saying LCD's are less rolled off than the T1?

The T1's extend high with no significant roll off to my ears. With the amps I have the T1's are at least as extended as the HE6's in the hf's. I don't think anyone would ever call the T1's dull or dark (disregarding a total lack of synergy with amp)

The LCD are not really rolled off either, they extend very high, unlike HD650's, but are slightly recessed in the hf's. Thats different to being rolled off.

The difference between the LCD's and many brighter phones is the LCD's do not have the spikes that plauge these brighter phones.

The T1's and the HE-6's are brighter sounding and the HD650's are far darker sounding.

Very helpfull informations.

As i think T1's treble is incredible, I can hardly imagine better. I definitly want to hear those HE6 one time. But it's difficult to find a store where they have it on demo for now.

About confort, I agree with you HD800>T1. While the T1 are very comfy, the HD800 is the most comfy cans I've ever had on my head!

I don't know about the LCD2 and HE6. But i tried one time the HE5LE and it was not very comfy on my head.

Are there other T1 earpads alternatives?  I find it to be too small.  I prefer the cups to sit around my ears instead of on them.

From your sig I see that youve returned the DT990's and consequently I think that there was the same problem?? As far as I know arent any other alternatives because this is Beyers standard size..

I may pick up the DT990 600 Ohms again just to see how it compares to the T1.  When I had it, I really liked the sound and thought it was a bargain at under $250.  Now I am itching to do the comparison.  Anyone here has done it?  Your thoughts on if I should?

Funny you should ask, I have done a rather large comparison on here as well as post a video response to your T1 unboxing on Youtube.

Here's the thread > http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/513393/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more

I owned the DT990 600 ohm for years, and really liked them. But after getting the T1, I sold them (and the DT880/600) - the T1 is just much, much better.

Yeahh do it))) In my opinion and when I comparing them I really like the T1 more with every music because they are just more balanced in every way. I have to say that I own the old DT990's.

The LCD-2's treble goes up to 20kHz without issue...the T1's are recessed at about 15-16kHz ish...not a biggie for me though.

Any FR-graphs for the LCD available?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy some T1's later this year.  I showed them to my wife and told her the price and she did not say no.  That's always a good sign.  My question is about amps.  I enjoy diying more than buying, so which of the diy amps out there would you guys recommend?  I'm thinking Bijou or one of the Bottlehead models for tubes and maybe a Beta22 for SS.  Recommendations from users would be appreciated.

Tubes...and preferably a nice OTL tube amp. The WA2 is as good as I've heard the T1s with.
