I had to be without my T1s for the last few weeks...the DT1350s held me over very well, but wow...so nice to have the T1s again! I spent about three hours listening last night before I went to bed and it was awesome...

I don't know why I'm posting this....but I know many of you guys would hate to be w/out your pair for nearly a month, too!

I just had one of the most fun experiences with a sound effect that I've ever had. I was off today so decided to fire up a film called "No Man's Land" that I've been meaning to see for a while now. ( http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/no_mans_land/ )  Well, between the 15-18 minute mark, there is a scene where a Bosnian soldier is hiding out in a trench, and this fly is buzzing around his head. This effect was SO realistic on the T1s that it actually had me resisting the urge to swat the damn thing out of the air. I have to give my Meier Corda Jazz amp a little credit, cause you just hear it all with that thing, but the T1s created such a believable sound stage for that stupid fly that I just couldn't believe it. From the left of my head, across the front and over to the right, up, down, etc, etc...it completely took me out of the film for a few minutes cause I was so intrigued by this lol.

This movie is on Netflix streaming for anyone who wants to try it out for fun.

PS. The film was excellent.

Nice! That's a magical pairing (T1/WA2). Enjoy!

Re-terminated my T1's to balanced a couple of days ago to fully exploit my Master-6. Warrenty has gone out of the window but with SQ this good I don't care. beyersmile.png

I want to do the same thing.  As all my amps are now, and going to be balanced.

Who did yours?

I did it myself. Took 10 minutes.

Got a demo pair of T1's today, am using them with my new Schiit Lyr.  Either this sound isn't quite for me, or the demo hasn't been fully burned in yet.  The treble seems to be a tad too hot for me.  It's not excruciating, but it's definitely a bit too much for my ears.  However, the detail retrieval is superb, I can't argue with that.  Dynamics are pretty damn good too.  For some reason it isn't making me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  I'll give it some more time.

The Lyr/T1 combo is only adequate. I'd recommend rolling in some sweet sounding Mullard CV2492s for an improvement. That said, there are better T1 options out there (like the Valhalla).

Yea I definitely got the feeling that the T1s sound better with all tubes.  However, the Lyr is here to stay, since it pairs so well with my HD650.  The Lyr/650 combo right now I think blows away the Lyr/T1 combo as it is.  I will demoing some other cans as well, including the HE-500 and HE-6, so I'm assuming I'll find a better match for the Lyr at some point.  The T1's were the only demos available right away, so I said what the hell.
