I agree about the DT1350s. They're the reason I jumped on the T1s.

Understandable...they weren't even on my radar until I saw Tyll at Inner Fidelity's review....I had no idea I would love them as much as I do...use them all the time, and not just for portable use. They surpassed my Grado 325s as my favorite headphone in that price range. I feel like they're more similar sonically to the T1s than they are the 880s. Love the carrying case, as well...

Nice.  I just read Tyll's review and they seem rather impressive.  Will keep these in mind when the time comes for a portable.

Just heard it again. I would send it in for service straight away but what am I gonna listen to in the meantime? Nothing else is as good

EDIT: No...I was wrong. Just heard it again. I would send it in straight away but what am I gonna listen to in the meantime? Nothing else is as good

I had the same problem with my DT990, and I opened it up and took the hair out. It was just a real small strand. It might pay to open your t1 up and have a closer look.

Listening to them side-by-side I can't agree. The T1s are better, good enough for me to sell my 880s, but to my ears comments like "in another league" or "the DT880 is less than 50% of a T1" are hyperbole. I try to be very straight-forward and rational, not get caught up in "new headphone mania". It's awesome to get new toys, and these are very good, but they aren't without their issues as well.

That I'll agree with, 100%.

Add another T1 fan to the club. I have had these for several months now and put them up against some pretty stiff competition in head to head comparisons but I have to say the T1 is a winner in my mind. They excelled in revealing the dynamic range and impact of music like no other. If you are into 1980s rock/pop/newwave music I say these are simply a must have as nothing else captures the essence of that musical era so well imo. I would certainly put these on the short list along with Audeze LCD-2 as some of the more versatile and solid performing headphones I have tried.

I picked up a T70 for a closed can and I think they're pretty great.  I like the more relaxed and airy sound than I get with my grados for a lot of  classical and jazz pieces.

Probably not going to go and splurge on a T1 too soon, but if they're also a lot better than this, I'd be tempted to keep a vague lookout for a good deal on a used pair.

I tryed T70 at a store and i have to say that tonaly i prefer the T70 , a bit brighter , colder , less bass , but i still prefer my T1 a more detailled can , more transparent , a better soundstage , a better headphone overall , but T70 still a very good headphone on my opinion and some times i am thinking in saving up for a T70P for portable use .

I had opened it up (popped out the driver) to vacuum it, but I guess I'll have to unscrew the driver from the cup to get a closer look at source of the problem? Would you recommend that? I suppose it can be done safely with patience...

I have to be honest, the thought of vacuuming these....especially with a DYSON of all things...would scare the crap out of me!

Well, the driver's pretty solid, it doesn't look like anything'll get displaced. But I looked closer, the problem seems to be a loose wire or something, I hear almost a scratching sound against the diaphragm. I'm still debating sending them back for a refund or servicing them because I don't want to have another problem like this later, but no other headphones matches the sound of this one (from my experience).
