eek.gif and that's not a suspicious seller either. Can't help but question the "true" condition however.

No, I ordered from the same seller. The cardboard box was beat up but the metal box and phones were perfect. I'm going to sell my AD900s to pay for the cost of these.

Know about planar waves and all, in theory I guess it should sound more natural.

But still planar magnetic sound kind of artificial in the instrument pinpointing and distancing as oposed to AKG702 and HD800 (and probably the T1 too, though I've never heard it). Now, the vocals in any planar magnetic headphone are a different thing indeed, they sound great (at least with the ones I heard, the HE5LE and - much more with - HE500) and very natural (because of the planar waves produced that are similar to the ones our own vocal chords waves, I guess).

To me planar magnetics, the two ones I've heard (and I guess they all should sound very similar in the aspects that make me say this), are for: fast paced impactfull music of any kind(with lots of consecutive "slams", not only "fast paced"), vocal-only songs (chorals, capelas -- stuff I don't really like and almost never listen to), electronic styles (house, trance...).

For acoustic music of any kind (Country, Folk, Jazz, Orchestrated...) and "classic" Rock'n'roll I prefer reference "traditional" dynamic drives, by far.

But that's just me, and things may change with (when) new planar magnetic headphones come out. Also, never heard electrostatic headphones and the 009 is on my list (someday, someday...)!

I just tried, and it's already sold I guess, because the "This item is no longer available from the seller you selected."  is already appeared on my screen

Yeah, I think they had a couple pairs that sold out almost instantly. You never know, though, may show up even cheaper later (in the mid $400s, it would be a ridiculous deal)

Lucky fellas that snapped up those T1s. Too bad Audeze and HifiMan doesn't make Amazon an authorized retailer or we would see those at amazing prices too...sigh

I was all over it like white on rice, even with Square Trade it was only $570. Like someone else said, I hope I get a good one.

No doubt, that's an easy sale on ebay for a grand (I doubt I'd sell them, though).

I've always thought the T1s and 880s were quite similar when amped properly. The T50RPs are something else entirely though, they have the traditional smooth ortho sound which is very different.

I just ordered one of the new style LCD-2 yesterday.  If I would have saw this price first I would be in the T1 owners club... argh!!!!!!

To me, the 880s are more mellow while the T1 reveal more detail and sound clearer (they still need burn in). I have been listening to the 880 more because I don't have to worry about how I handle them plus I like the darker sound.
