I almost bought that pair, but thought the price was too good to be true.

What i was trying to get across was if he keeps them and doesn't kick up a fuss about them, the third party will just keep doing it to people and you will still be able to buy faulty goods on the cheap from a respected company like amazon! http://www.beyerdynamic.com/

I know were i will be getting my headzone game and t1's from and it won't be amazon!

These were direct from Amazon and they are an authorized vendor so I am not concerned and they havea no questions asked return policy that makes listening easy and no restock fee either

Since he's hearing the issues when driving the T1s from his laptop, anyone consider its clipping in the bass region? I'd wait until you could try the T1s on a more suitable amp/source, then if its still there, you know its the headphones. If not, then it was likely clipping.

The thing that makes me think it's not clipping (my first thought) is the fact it's only in one channel. Sounds like something more than an amping problem to me because of that.

Could be that the bass on a particular recording could be mostly on the one channel (and not evenly reproduced on both). Even a home theater receiver headphone out would help validate whether it was the setup or the cans.

Thanks a lot for the feedback everyone, i think i'll send it back to amazon warehouse for a full refund, i was hoping to fix it but i won't take my chances. what's more weird is that when crank the volume all the way up the rattling is nearly gone and it's too hard to notice !!!
