hi guys, i was gonna buy the LCD-2 but for some reasons things didn't work out so i'm gonna go with the T1 ( it was toss up between the LCD-2 and T1 ). i'm placing the order tomorrow except that i'm not sure how would they sound unamped ?

( i've had dt900 600ohm and the sound was bearable unamped, i'm assuming the sound level would be the same, right ? )

There's no way I'd buy the T1s without also getting them an amp...

Of course, what did you expect ?!! i would get the T5p if i wasn't planning on amp. i think it's better to get the headphone then get an amp for them. it's a relief what you said, now i can be sure they won't be setting around and if so ... i have the D5k.

as for the amps i'm getting the M-stage or Asgard, i'm not gonna rush into an expensive amps since fiio e6 frown.gif ..  is the best amp i have.

i'll be joining this club by next week, thanks very much for your help, 9 months ago i was listening to 10$ chinese headphone and now i'm getting on of the best headphones in the world << this stuff drained my wallet completely .. ;)

MEDO: Glad to hear you're not as crazy as I thought you were (haha). I'll throw out a recommendation for one of the Meier amps. Jan Meier is a big fan of Beyerdynamic and I can attest to the fact that his Corda Jazz amp is a great match for the T1s.

I have a quick question about the T1's.  I have a Peachtree Decco2 receiver and it has a very good headphone amp.  I was wondering if anyone has ever used the T1's with it.  I also have a Matrix M-Stage amp that I use with my D5000's, would this match up at all with the T1's.  I am on the edge and close to pulling the trigger and getting them.  Someone give me a push :)

M-stage is Ok with DT-880-600 , should be ok with T1 at least ,and  be able to let you enjoy T1 , but upgrading later for something better is peraphs the right way to get full potential of T1 .

So a quick update:

When I first got my (now sold) WA2, I thought: "man these T1s are amazing and couldn't get any better". Then I picked up my (also now sold) WA22 and things did get better. Then I thought to myself: "ok, now I'm at the pinnacle for the T1s and I'm hearing all they have to give me".

Well, today I've been using my T1s with my new Liquid Fire and....basshead.gif. They're even better. Bass is tighter...like HD800 tight. The mids are so natural and the treble is fantastic. Imaging has also improved too. So just goes to show you (or just me at least) that the T1s scale and scale with better gear.

Don't tell me things like this, not buying anymore amps!

Hrm...Unfortunately I didn't feel the improvement from the Auditor to the Liquid-Fire was big enough to warrant the extra cash. You guys know I'm not fond of the Liquid Fire as I find it's performance-to-price to be severely disappointing. Not a bad amp, but quite expensive for what it is and I feel it should sound much better for the price.

I personally like the WA2 much more than the Liquid-Fire as I believe it's the better value, and they perform about the same for the T1. When I had the LF o hand along with the WA2, I found the the LF did have an overall better sound which was more controlled. It's just that it's not all that much better than the WA2. Just my opinion though guys, so don't get mad at it at all.

I prefer my Auditor to both the LF and WA2. I find the Auditor to have much more control, extension, faster transients, and so on. Thig is that the Auditor is not as versatile as the LF. The LF can power both high impedance and low impedance really well. The Auditor and WA2 are for high impedance only sadly..

Oh and if you love tube sound I can see why so many flock to the LF. It's signature is extra creamy :)
