Do they? Their website doesn't seem to give any of that info. I sent them an e-mail. I also noticed that they have an option for silver. Thinking maybe I should get silver to match my Auditor. :P Not that it really matters.. :D

You're right it doesn't say it's in stock. Though when I bought my NAD T747 from them it didn't say that either. Shoot them an e-mail and see what they say.

Anyone upgraded T1 cable or is original good enough?

I have some supra loudspeakercable i don't use. 2 pair 3meter.

Is this project of any use?

I don't see how that will make it easier to drive at all. If the power is coming from the same source then it should sound the same. I've tried a similar method with a 4-pin XLR adapter to dual TRS plugs and there wasn't any difference at all on my X-CANV8P.

The M1-A is out of stock at this time. We have been getting
LOTS of inquiries on this unit, so everybody must be out of these!

Guess I'll just wait it out with Music Direct.

Posted these on the LCD-2 thread too, but thought I'd post here too. Going to do numerous comparisons over the next few days, portable and desktop.

Portable set up for tonight!

I got a question here, I am looking to buy a headphone for a long time now. And my choices are between the Audio Technica W1000X and the Denon D7000. But lately I've seen that the Beyerdynamic T1 is priced the same as the Denon D7000, even a bit cheaper. (D7000 for €850, T1 for €819)

My question is if the T1 is really a significant upgrade compared to the other two headphones. And my only problem that prevents me from buying this headphone is that I don't have a amp or DAC to drive this at the moment, and probably will not be able to for a couple of months, whereas the other headphones are much easier to drive. I only got a COWON J3 MP3 player at the moment.

Any suggestions?

PS: Don't worry, for the time being I will buy a 1/4 to 1/8 jack biggrin.gif (.....frown.gif)

IMO the T1s are far superior phones to the D7000s. They are not even in the same stratosphere in you are looking for a real "audiophile" sound. The tonal balance and clarity are leagues ahead on the Beyers. If you are a bass head then the Denons might come into contention though the T1s have plenty of bass when properly amped. I have never heard the W1000X so can't comment there.

Norse Audio 4-Wire Norn cable. I won't comment on any audio differences, but I will say they are an absolute pleasure to use. The lightest, most comfortable cable I've ever sampled. One of the better looking too.

Overall, yes, I think the T1 is the better headphone, technically speaking. But the D7000's are also very special, and are in the same league in terms of sheer musical satisfaction, IMO. Sometimes I prefer the Denons when I want an easier, more relaxed yet still dynamic listen. They are more forgiving of lesser-recorded quality albums, and the most comfortable (and good-looking) headphones I've ever owned. But I love them both, and would not want to part with either.
