In your case you may be experiencing something similar. You are used to your DT880 and perceive the T1 as bass-light. Perhaps this changes over time as you get used to the T1.

But in the end, if you're not happy with what you're hearing, the only solution is to get something different. Just take your time - To me, the best things in life are the ones that don't "wow" you immediately. Applies to headphones and to a lot of other things...

Burn in -> agreed. I'm also not a believer.

And that my experiences will change after some more days could happen.

Anyway a few hours ago I ordered a HD800 in addition and next week I will do a comparison with all of my headphones and afterwards I will decide.

Thanks

The wait is finally over, I got my T1!

Sounding superb so far, I'm not a big believer of burn-in either (I know the phenomenon exists, I just don't think it makes an audible difference, but hey, this isn't the science forum). It's more comfortable than I could have imagined, a few seconds after I place it on my head it feels like it's disappeared, and I'm surrounded by music. I love the super sturdy heavy-weight cable and bomb-proof metal box as well.

Regarding the bass, I can confirm that the T1 is by no means bass-light. And that means a lot coming from an orthodox basshead who was used to a DT990/600, which most agree is quite bassy, modded with custom JMoneyAudio v2 leather pads that make them even bassier. Will try these pads on the T1 soon, but I think I'd want them to stay as neutral as possible.

Source and amplifier are Meier Stagedac and Concerto.

T1 ordered. Got a nice Christmas bonus and immediately cashed my paycheck. :D

A question for all T1 owners. What are the dimensions of the box that your T1s came in?

I am away from home and am looking at some HTPCs and I can only compare them to the size of that box sitting on my HiFi shelf :)

TIA,

Szadzik

The box is 243 x 283 x 148 mm / 9.57 x 11.14 x 5.83 inches.

nice.

You have to share your impression of T1 with WA6SE vs. W2.

I have, but it makes no sense and appears to mainly just use graphs to say what is better and nothing more. confused.gif

And why even rate things like portability and isolation of open back headphones?.. What?

I tried... an interesting approach to reviewing.  I applaud the use of objective data, but it doesn't seem like they actually listen to anything?  I have to admit I didn't get through the whole thing because the navigation of the website is possibly the worst I've ever encountered!  That and the pop-up add that came up every time I changed pages turned me off pretty quickly...

I noticed they rated the DT-990 very high, higher than the HD-800.

I read the review and I thought it was absolute poo. They don't know what they are talking about IMO but I won't bash them as everyone has their own opinion on sound.

"Keep in mind that it will be very hard to hear these blemishes as a human, but having recording equipment allows one to see things like this."

Has the singularity arrived without my knowing it?

Seems kind of useless barring any info of what equipment was used to test the headphone.  Their headphone rankings are whack too imo; ATH-AD900 with a higher rank than T1?  I call it bologna, Tony Bologna!
