Currently fighting the urge. Really tempted though because I can get it locally here any time for about $1300.

Like Zombie X and some others here, I have the more affordable combo: the T1 with the Woo WA3. I think it sounds great. Very happy with it. Either way, OTL- style tube amps seem to be the ideal way to go with the T1's. Better than other options I've tried at least.

Yo guys,

Amazon has the T1 on sale for $999 new right now. That's only $50 more than what I paid for my used pair :(. Take advantage of this sale!

X2 on Beyer's warranty service.  I just sent them a T1 for repair and it was one of the best after sales experiences I've had!

May I ask what the issue with the T1 was?

Certainly!

I ran into a T1 for sale on Craigslist for $500.... The seller said the headband adjuster was damaged.  Turns out the entire left side yoke was broken completely off the headband.  I spoke with Beyerdynamic about the cost to repair and they reminded me that any T1 should still be under warranty because they would not yet be 2 years old.  I made an offer and purchased them for $300.  I sent them to Beyerdynamic service in NY and they called me yesterday to let me know they are on the way back, fully repaired.  I'm not sure of the official policy on beyerdynamic warranty, but I beleive they require proof of purchase...but I'll let you read between the lines... My total cost for a T1 is $300 to the CL seller + flat rate shipping to NY ($25)!!  Needless to say I was impressed.  I'm very much looking forward to hearing them.  The folks at the repair center were prompt and professional,  something I'll keep very much in mind when I consider buying from them again.  This is my third  beyerdynamic product, not likely to be my last!

Amazing! Bargain of the forever! Good work Sir.

Let us know you're impressions, but give them a good amount of time to burn in.

Agreed! Awesome steal.

The T1s were my first $1000+ headphones. I actually got the first pair available in Canada back in January 2009. I've added a few more headphones to my collection, but the T1s are still here and get plenty of head-time. L3000.gif

I'm pretty excited to see how I can get them sounding from my Woo 6SE, will be asking our friends over in the Woo owners thread about the combination and tube selection.  I'll be sure to post up when I get to hear 'em!!

Just got the T1s (#5034) recabled and I can say with confidence that there was a noticeable improvement. The treble became smoother, mids more prominent, bass tighter and soundstage fuller+deeper. Each area improved in a subtle way, but combined, the effect was substantial. I was about to sell these, but now they're keepers...

can't wait to hear the WA2/T1 combo. ive been thinking about it alot lol

I'm thinking about doing the same as I get paid today. But my mother's birthday is January 2nd so I should probably treat her to something nice first. :P guess I'll have to see what my Christmas bonus is like.

I decided to take the plunge in the T1 after picking a set for $800, and a HiFiMan EF5 ($250) on the way as well, classifieds offer great value. If the T1 performs poorly with the EF 5 / Yulong D100 then I will probably invest in a WA3 (I'm never going to spend more on a amp compared to a headphone).
