Buying el cheapo 2.1 desktop speakers, which of these is less bad?

The contenders, they cost almost the same:

- Cambridge PCWorks
- Creative Inspire 2.1 2400
- Creative Inspire 2.1 2500
- or these Maxell "Flat Panel Speakers with Subwoofer" which I don't really know the model (FPS-1 I think)

So, I'd like people who know/have heard those to please give an opinion?

Thanks

Although I've not heard the Creative Inspire or Maxell, I would still say that Cambridge Soundwork's multimedia speakers are very good for the money.

I frequently recommend the "Soundworks" model to friends who wanted great sounding speakers under $75. The sound is well-balanced. It doesn't suffer from the "over-bloated bass, raspy mids and stringy treble" problem that plagues multimedia speakers.

The "PC Works" has a smaller bass unit but shares the same cube satellites as the "Soundworks." I would say, if you can cough out $30 more, go with the "Soundworks." You won't be disappointed!

BTW - the "Soundworks" model was designed by the late Audio Hall of Fame member, Mr. Henry Kloss. He's da man.

Happy shopping!!

We have the PC works and we like them. You might also go up like 20 bucks and get the better model, which I have also heard and is good.
