B & W 600 SERIES i Speakers with Ming Da MC84CII

Thread Starter

I'm thinking of buying a Ming Da MC84CII. These are spec 12w/channel. I have  a pair of B & W dm600i's just sitting here doing nothing, and wondering if the Ming Da will power these speakers, and what can I expect for SQ.

Thanks

My first guess would be no, the B&W's on the low end are 30w. Being the quality speakers B&W are known for I'd want to push them properly and give them at least 80-100w. That said I'm sure the Mingda would push it you just wouldn't get the full capabilities out of them.

I was looking for a (tube) HP amp as well that can power my B&W DM610, but haven't found one yet. As Pokefan says, they need at least 80w

Tube amps of that size start to get pretty pricey! http://www.vacuumtube.com/JD%201000A.htm

Of course there's always McIntosh! ;)
