Hi guys, what about a FURUTECH GT2 USB cable for my W4S DAC-2?

Anyone tryed it?

 

Is it a good cable?

Is better the Furetech or the wireworld starlight?

I have no idea.  Furutech makes nice stuff for sure(I use one of their outlets-killer).  I'm using the Cardas Clear and its been great.

Hope this info is worth... I bought an Furutech GT2 a while ago and it "destroyed" my system,making everything brighter. After a while I replaced it with a DH Labs, a much better product in my opinion.

But I'm using another DAC.

 

By the way... have anyone compared this DAC to Audiolab M-DAC?

I'm surprised you find it bright. I actually find it to be on the darker side.

Has anyone replaced the factory fuse on the W4S DAC-2.  Does Wyred use a premium fuse at the factory, or a cheap 25 cent one.  If anyone has replaced it, can you advise if it was a easy install with respect to removing the cover.  Thank you.

I have a suped up DAC-1 but did not change the fuse...yet.wink_face.gif However, I remember reading Odessey Audio Hong Kong's Forum and many users had begun rolling Furutech and other fuses after consulting Clint from Wyred4Sound. They love the aftermarket fuses with the W4S shoe box!

Can any of you guys compare DAC2 with Lavry DA11 as a DAC ( not using headphones! )? and how do they compare via coax ?

Better in every way. Transparency, clarity, detail retrieval...simply a better DAC the DAC-2 is IMO. Not night and day huge differences, but enough for me to have bought the W4S DAC-2. And I'm a fan of the Lavry DA11.

I had a hard time telling a difference. This was with a Lavry DA10 compared to the DAC2.

And from comparing it with headphones.

 

Ultimately I felt the DAC2 had a better sounding bass, but only after A/B testing and listening very carefully.

 

But if you played one from the other and asked me which DAC you were using, I wouldn't be able to tell.

i went for DAC2, bought it from hpz, cant wait to recieve it :) , are there any modds for dac2, not planning to modd it but im just curious. :)
