Yeah these aren't Justin's HeadAmp cases for sure.  I would believe that once you strip it the metal needs to be fine sanded and maybe filled and sanded again and again before paint.  Just like those car shows.

Gear mentioned in this thread:

200+ hours now on the DSDse...Great improvement in Space Speed and Clarity. Great upgrade. Highly recommended.

As for the case compared to Justin, I like their styling, but if we had the anodizing color choices I wonder about price and wait time. No question about Justin's quality. It is nice after all the custom stuff I have had done with their wait times to actually order something and it is actually delivered in a couple of days!

I want patience and I want it now!  biggrin.gif

128DSD...Sweet. It sounds like I am plugged into the mixing board!

Nice.  What are you playing at 352k?  What did you play at DSD128?

I wen to www.2L.no and DL'd in DSD128

The I went to www.superhirez.com and DL'd Shelby Lynne's Just a Little Lovin' in DSD64.

Incredible clarity! The chain is pretty strong all the way through. I added the Toxic Cables Balanced Silver Widow's to the HD800's.

I can afford the W4S DAC2 DSD but the SE is a stretch. How much of a loss will I have if I cannot afford the latter?

Hmmm...  I'll have to give them a shot.  I like the way DSD's sound too.

What do you think of the difference with the balanced cable on the Taboo?

I can't speak for what the "se" brings over the DSD.

Early in the analysis for balanced vs SE. There is more power from the Balanced, so I have to turn it down a bit from SE listening levels.

I would say the DSD gives you 80% an the se the last 20%. You will be very pleased with just the DSD version.

A Love Supreme available at Acoustic Sounds for download on DSD.  I've read it is quite good.  I'll be buying that when I get my upgrade.

Well folks, it's sad to say, but after 2+ years with my DAC-2, I've essentially sold mine to a local buyer. He's picking it up in a week or two right after my new Bryston BDA-2 arrives. For the $, I still think that in the price range (sub $1600), its the best I've heard.

Hey, this IS a hobby...biggrin.gif

I love my DSDse upgrade. It really is a new DAC so in a sense I have done the same thing.  I look forward to your impressions in the BDA-2 thread.

Funny, the DAC-2 is the longest piece of gear I've kept over the past 2 years (except for my HD800s). For good reason...it's a great DAC!

But that said, the BDA-2 in my rig, did bring both my stat and dynamic rigs to another level.

Nice that you were able to find a local buyer.  The BDA-2 is quite an attractive DAC.
