My bad-- Not SPDIF, I'm thinking of AES/EBU-- Which would be the preferred way to go.  Optical is limited to 96k, isn't it?

I believe so....I generally use the USB for everything.

Or you can use a M2Tech Hiface which converts USB to coax spdif ;-)

True enough. Lot's of good choices for that. However, I am happy with the USB itself.

Arrrghh!

Then you're at the mercy of THAT converter.

I stick with the USB.  Haven't done a SPDIF/USB face off on the W4S.  And I don't know if I want the result.

I did the face-off... S/PDIF favored on the shoe box over here.

Well make sure you let us less-connected owners know when something comes out-- I'm in the dark here!

Please let me know if your interested and I can put you on a list to be contacted once I have more information."    Pretty cool sounding!  I'm on the list!

I posted this a while back about upgrades.

I'd like the DSD but the drawback to me is very little to choose from w/music unless you have SACD files and then have the cost added to that for 5% of your listening library.  I do believe DSD is going to be the deal but how long?
