Help needed - mono output to stereo headphone

Thread Starter

I have this problem: I only have a mono output (a 1/4" TS unbalanced jack), and I would like to plug in a headphone and have it output to both left and right. What kind of cable/adapter can I use to achieve that? I've tried a TS to TRS adapter and it doesn't seem to work...

(and my apologize if this is the not the right place to post this )

if you don't mind DIY, get a short length of 4 wired cable, a T/S plug and a TRS plug. connect the signal pin from the TS plug to the left and right pins of the TRS, and ground to ground, and it should work. Its about 15 minutes work at most, and about 4-5 dollars in parts unless you want to go fancy

You should be able to find a mono to stereo jack for a few dollars at Radio Shack. It's just a simple plug that goes between the source's jack and your headphones' jack.
