the Woo, RSA, and EC BA amps are all really nice units. another highly versatile and excellent sounding piece is the Pete Millet designed TTVJ 307A amp which can drive virtually any dynamic can around (including the K1000). i don't know if he has any of these great units left as he's done to a newer series of amps, the top of the line which can use, iirc, either the 307A (300B like tube, but less costly) or 2A3 tubes, and like it's predecessor can drive se or balanced cans.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and input!
I have decided since acquiring some K1000 that the Woo 5 is the best choice. I really enjoyed listening to the 300b so it seemed logical. The 2A3 whilst exquistly detailed, didn't grab me like the 300b did.
Ive gone for the parts upgrade, rectifier upgrade and sockets upgrade. And for pure vanity some matching Woo headphone stands.
Have some Russian 1578 and TSRP's in the post to roll in as well. Ill stick with the stock 300b's and buy some JJ's to start with as these seem to be a good bang for the buck. Will look into some different types of 300b's when my wallet has recovered!
I'm in the queue at Woo now, 5 weeks build and another 2 weeks for delivery to England, hopefully ill be burning in this baby over Christmas!
Cheers
