I just purchased some custom 3's and decided I would buy a new pmp to go with it. I currently have an iPod classic 80gb but I'm on my 4th or 5th one due to their poor build quality. I require larger capacity than 30 gb, but don't necessarily need a ton of space. Sound quality is significantly more important, however all my music will be in vbr and cbr between 220kbps-320 with a few older tracks and live tracks at slightly lower bitrate. Other features are secondary but still desirable. I was considering the Archos 5 android 500gb just for the sheer size and features such as wi-fi etc, but have read about it getting extremely hot, poor sound quality. I'm also considering a larger zune hd or simillar. I would like to keep it under $500usd as well. Is the Archos that bad? It would be great and be fully used for internet browsing and that stuff, but if it gets hot I don't want it, and if it has poor sq I don't want it either.
EDIT: I just looked at the Cowan line-up and they all look great and I would definitely consider the 32 gb space adequate if the sound was good. Out of the Cowan, which sounds the best out of the V5, O2, S9 and J3?
