SR60-Mod - Page 321

Hello, i´ve just mod my new 225 with wood and aluminium. I dismantle the driver with a new tecnic for me, i have explain in my spanish foro and i copy for you, i dont have time now for translate.

http://recopasgrado.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-08-13T12%3A58%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=7

I hope it help somebody to take the driver sure and easy.

The sound is more detailed than the wood total cup, but less bass and warm.

Greetings  from Spain.

Yes, me too.  Wait, I'm the guy who helped him get this resolved.  biggrin.gif   By the way ... and, for the record, I DELIVER as promised.  wink.gif   If there might be someone reading this thread (oh, let's say a previous member who made hundreds of promises, but didn't deliver), please let that be a lesson to you.

I have an update from my previous statement where I indicated that the sales guy at the Radio Shack I went to said they didn't carry it in the stores anymore, but do on-line on their Web site.  Apparently, this only happened for that particular store.  I pulled up the item and checked the local stock and several of the other stores around me carry it in the store, but not that one that I shopped at.  Needless to say, I'll be making a geek run to Radio Shack after work today to stock up on some supplies.  Obviously, I'll be using another Radio Shack store and not the one that no longer carries the desoldering wick.

I love this Internet stuff.  What else can one do at 5:00 a.m. in the morning?  Sleep?  That's for the weak.   Oh wait ... I'm heading back to sleep for a bit.  tongue.gif

Thanks guys. I really needed my Gralessandro shot. This way I think I'm set. Don't expect great pics:

1) Marty has already posted them and they are on his profile. I'm getting the #001 serial (I think)

2) Marty has way more skills at taking pics (and modding)

3) I have a crappy camera

4) I'm a crappy pic taker

However, there will certainly be a review smile.gif

I have a line on an SR80 driver (should be similar enough to my 60 to not pose a problem) which I can eventually replace my busted driver with to have two pairs of 60s. Should be nice, I am definitely looking forward to having a pair of headphones to play with again.

Great to hear. I was wondering if you had given up already. The lost driver song :)

Just got back from a quick trip to Isla Canela and Sevilla as I was in the Algarve working on my tan. The cataplana was very tasty :)

Mind telling the story behind that amp?

And the Alu/madera copas, will this be a design you're offering too?

Oh, I have community spirt.  A short while ago, I became aware of a member ripping off another member here.  (I'll keep the names out of it).  I wrote a note to the seller, who apparently claimed that the headphones were shipped.  However, I also learned that he had apparently (by his own admission) used a flimsy box and didn't pay for a tracking number (apprently, attempting to be cheap).  Needless to say, the buyer had been waiting over 2 months for his product and made several attempts to reach the seller - but, the seller kept avoiding  his contacts.

I wrote a nice "convincing" letter to this seller simply explaining to him that I had no fear of getting the FBI Internet Fraud Unit involved, the local police department and the USPS postal inspectors involved in a full investigation.  The communication between the seller and the buyer opened up once again.  The seller only refunded 1/2 of the money, which still disturbed me a bit as well as the buyer since he was still out some money and didn't have the headphones.  However, we did have some success.

I did "PM" one of the moderators regarding this issue, but didn't get a response back as I believe the seller should be banned from this site.  As a seller, it is my believe that you are 100% responsible until the item reaches the buyer.  This includes purchasing insurance, tracking information - and, if the item doesn't arrive, filing the necessary insurance paperwork to recover the funds.  If those activities don't happen, then you're just a lazy and irresponsible seller.

This seller knows who he is (it's not Bilavideo) - and, I'll keep my eye on things.  evil_smiley.gif

Scammers should be banned if there is evidence to support the facts, although it would probably be more effective if it were the buyer himself to do it, unless there is any specific problem with the buyer using the forum "oficial" language or something of the sort.

Mods should reply to relevant questions regarding sensitive areas of the forum as is the For Sale/Trade section as it's their "store".

I've got to admit, I'll be passing on the aluminum cups.  Just wake me up when the titanium cups become available.  biggrin.gif

Nobody knows.  Saldy, John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted" is retiring, so we can't get him in on the case.

Titanium is one tough and light material. The price of a pair of cups should be quite expensive. I quite like the material as I have a couple watches and eye wear made of it - no allergies with that!

Unfortunately, this forum doesn't show when a member last visited.  You can only search for their most recent posts.  I would be nice if we could see if he's been "lurking" around here.  I'm quite sure he has been.  frown.gif
