Thanks James....

The head band is comfortable since it has a larger resting area. The original band, even with the pad I had on it felt heavy and to me felt like it put pressure on a small area causing me to take them off often.  The Mini3 sounds great and the battery life is fantastic. And the biggest plus I found is that when the battery runs low I can plug it in while I'm still listening. No need to wait for it to recharge.

The pa2v2 lasts indefinitely. I'm already wanting to upgrade though.. You guys know how it is. I think my next purchase is another pair of in ear headphones.. re0's most likely. My Maximo's are really nice, but they are a bit more bass heavy than I would like.

Chris- I saw this little amp last night and thought you might dig it...maybe not though with the added bass but I don't know how much that is...anyway

I agree everyone's tastes are different sometimes in the middle of all of this we seem to forget that Grados aren't the only headphones. I'm just trying to bring us back to reality here :D Grados are good but there are a lot of complex genre's out there that don't mix as well with the Grados right out of the box. And purchasing $50 pads isn't always feasible especially when you can find other cans around the same price that do what you want out of the box. Don't try to sell someone a Grado that is looking for separation without saying that you probably need different earpads to achieve it. And again not everyone likes the Grado signature (not that I don't) it is very in your face with a different focus than many other cans, and I feel that Grados definitely should be demoed before they are purchased more so than a lot of other headphones. Grados are fun to mod, and change but for me they don't get much play time, on my PC I use my k240 Monitors 600ohm and on the go I generally use Monster Turbines. They just don't fit in that well.

Anyway here are my Grados in their current condition:

Silver Plated 26awg wire from navships

Litz Braid with parachord around it

10 holes + Dynamat

Steel mesh backing

What gets you on this track you suggested is when everything comes at once then yeah it gets crowded. But when switching cans I still found the sound of the Grados better for the reason that I really enjoy the sound of instruments and when I can hear the tap of a symbol on it's own or when you can almost feel within a song the guitar pick hitting the strings then I get all warm a fuzzy on the inside.

I'll be honest, all the tracks I found online for this song were encoded at to high of a Bit rate so to me it was too bright. The you tube vid was way off as well on the recording so neither headphone played well at all.

But I think you will end up with a couple of cans to meet all of your music needs. For my music choices the Grados are by far the best in home and I have a portable can that works well at isolating outside noise while warming my ears with great music.

Get the other cans and see what happens, you never know..

I have the waveform of that song from the CD if you are talking to me...

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but can anyone point me in the right direction for a better cable that will be ok with the iGrado's .

Not too expensive just something  a little stronger as the current one keeps breaking as it gets tugged out by my daughter .

Yeah, I've actually looked at that amp. It's pretty neat for sure. I'd get something a good step up from the pa2v2 though.. probably a nice entry level desktop amp... i don't think i'm the type to carry around a portable amp.

looking to sell my im-590's and get some re0's.. I think i have a buddy that'll give me 50 bucks for them. They are some great sounding headphones just a bit too bassy for my likings. If any of you bass heads want to get them I'll give em to ya for 50. The highs and mids are great too, just a bit too much bump on the end, not bloat, just oomph, ya know?

http://www.markertek.com/Cables/Bulk-Wire-Cable/Bulk-Audio-Cable/Mogami-Wire-Cable-Corp/W2534-00-A.xhtml?2534%20WH <-- Mogami is pretty nice. I generally put a plastic zip tie on the wire inside of the shell to give a little extra support to the wire.

i do have a question that most of you may know... does the ps1000 pads (g-cush) fit into the sr80i?... or sr225i?....

i read a forum where it sayed that i does, but from other specifications on both pads and sr80i it looks too big... i want your opinion and to know if anybody ever done the test....
