Piece of cake. When I did mine I cut out a circle that was a little bigger than the circumference of the shell opening they were going to go in. With the circle cut out I then molded it around the lid of a spray can that was luckily for me the exact right size. The folded in edges then hold your make shift grill in place.

@ wje what's up with new avatar pic..LOL

Oh, not much.  Just trying to generate a little humor.  The guy's hat says "Southern Style" on it - which you can't see due to the avatar size.  I was wondering how many people might not take me seriously when they see the avatar. k701smile.gif

Edit: I decided to work from home today since I'll be driving into the city on Wednesday and Friday.  Man, it seems like everyone else at work has their panties in such a bunch.  Crap e-mails flying left and right.  That was when I decided to get out the funny pictures to loosen up a bit.  If I didn't do that, my co-workers and superiors would have driven me nuts.  It was good to pop over here every now and then to take my mind of some of that other "work" stuff.

I cut mine in like an octagonal shape, curved it a bit using the top of a salt shaker, and then bent the corners of the octagonal shape in so that it would slide in, but hold itself in. No glue necessary. If you cut it perfectly you are going to have to use some glue.

I can take a picture for you if you need it..

It's not pretty or perfect on the inside..

but the exterior looks great in my opinion.

I sort of got it, but it doesn't look so great. It's not a real snug fit so I might have to use some superglue. Here's a pic of one side done: 0426111322.jpg

Yeah Chris the exterior looks great on yours. Mine has some gaps and such. frown.gif

Does that just block the entire hole? It'll become a closed Grado. blink.gif

But it isn't actually closed because when I put my hand over it there is a difference. It allows air through but stops resonance? I can't explain it.

Eclein has done a similar thing to his grado's using a very thin piece of foam.  What kind of difference do you hear?

Is that like corduroy or tweed - or some other fabric?  It looks kind of classy - it might appeal to the British.  k701smile.gif

Maybe, we should send Prince William a pair ... because, after Thursday, things are going to be quite different once the marriage is official.  He'll need something to drone out the voice of Kate.

As long as it sounds good. tongue_smile.gif So I spent most of the day making the metal screens and I finally finished, I messed up quite a few times, but finally got it right before I ran out of that metal screen. Here's the final product!0426111553.jpg0426111604.jpg

Danthrax--How does it sound with the fabric????  Yep it was me who did the foam, I have since just left them open but will put the foam back soon to hear what kind of difference it makes with these shells of LIMBA.
