FS/FT: Denon D5000 Markl modded, AKG K701 Dual-Entry Black Dragon Recable.

Hello,

I'm looking to try something new, so for sale or trade are these two great phones.

The Denon D5000 have been Markl modded by myself, except for the recable (full dampening on both the front and rear of the driver, dampening in cups, fiberloft in the ear pads). I only have a picture of the rear of the driver dampening, as I accidentally deleted the picture of the front of the driver. If it will make or break the sale, I will re-open the headphones to reshoot the picture, but I would prefer not to open the cans. They have only been opened twice, once for the Markl mods and again to adjust the position of the cabling, so I would like to keep the threads on the cups in as good of shape as possible to ensure a snug hold. But again, I can take another photo if its a deal-breaker (or maker?). The D5000s are in great shape besides two marks on the arm of the right cup, and a small piece of cotton that shows on the cable (both blemishes pictured). The original box and 1/4" adapter are included. These were my go to headphones until I picked up the D7000s. $SOLD!

If you are a fan of the K701, you will love the Moon Audio recabled Black Dragon version. The cable takes everything that the K701 does well, and improves upon it. I owned a stock pair of K701s at the same time as these, so I was able to compare them side-by-side. The already extremely smooth stock K701 sounded grainy next to the Black Dragon version. The recable also gives the phones a wider soundstage (which I didn't think possible), and more extension top to bottom. I felt that the almost-sibilant treble of the stock version to be tamed with the recable, and the bass is tighter with more definition. However, while the recable affects the bass quality in a great way, it does not increase the bass quantity. The K701s will just always be a bass-light phone, I suppose. The ear pads aren't the newest, but still have plenty of life left in them. The only major blemish to these cans is a chip on the bottom of the left cup, which occured while opening the cups for the recable. The chip does not affect functionality. The cable measures 8ft from the cups to the tip of the Furutech pluge. I do not have the original box or stand. These cans sell for $630 new through Moon Audio ( $625 + $25 for dual entry - $20 for cable length) $SOLD!

Paypal as gift or buyer covers Paypal fees. Shipping to CONUS only.

Trades that I am interested in include: Ultrasone Pro 900, Ultrasone Pro 2900, Senn HD650 + cable, Grado RS-1 (with cash on my side)

Hmm, I'm not sure why some of the pictures were resized to a smaller version. Contact me if you would like higher quality/larger versions of the pics.
