Can anyone decipher this diagram?

I'm looking for some help in understanding how I can connect my Grado's to my amplifier (Quad 405-2)

 

If possible I would like to do so with minimum outlay, i.e without buying a headphone amp.

 

There is a diagram in the amplifier manual for connecting headphones in in the place of speakers:

But I can't make any sense of it; can you?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just 4 resistors (to lower the amplification appropriate for the headphones vs the speakers) and a headphone jack.  The switch shown is part of the headphone jack, plug in the headphone, and the speakers are turned off.
