Radio Shack Fusion and Monster cables

Recently tried out Radio Shack Fusion, Radio Shack Gold and Monster Cables 400KII.

Used as interconnects, 1 pair for from Marantz CD17 MKII to NAD 314 integrated amp, and 1 pair for from NAD 314's pre-amp stage to power-amp stage.

If all connections use Radio Shack Fusions (2 pair of cables), the sound is transparent, focused, bass is quite good, tonally very balanced. But high is very tiring, very sharp. and, alought it is focused, but kind of let me feel headache, i don't know why. sound is almost un-bearable for long listening.

1 pair RS Fusion and 1 pair RS Gold, problem with highs is resolved. But bass and upper bass are too 'fat', boomy. And a little bit less transparent, less focused, only a little bit. Over all sound is quite enjoyable, but not very balanced due to 'big' bass.

RS Fusion and Monster 400KII, no problem with high at all, high is very sweet, shiny, no any harsh or tiring. But bass is a little light, so tonally it is also not very balanced. And sound is a little 'blurred', less detail in midrange, not very transparent. But still, quite enjoyable.

RS Gold, Monster: sound is too blured, too dull. not a consideration at all.

- so, non of them works perfect so far, each has own pro and cons. Seems get a right combination of players and cables is a difficult job.

I'm not understanding your description of the "overall resulting sound" when you are using a different IC for each channel. I would imagine each side would sound different, and imbalanced in one way or another, no?

Am I missing something?

sorry i should mention more clearly, 1 - i mean 1 pair. I need 2 pairs, 1 pair for CD to Amp, 1 pair for pre-amp to power-amp.
now i've edited original post.

I also found the Monster 400MKII to be quite "blurry". Totally not worth it.
