My e-Q7's broke.

Thread Starter

I only bought them in February.

I suspect there's something lose in the plug as sound from the left earpiece stopped/started when the plug was touched.

Gone back to iheadphones.co.uk for replacement.

I was just wondering if any one else had a problem with these.

I had an issue with one of the sides a while back. It was really strange actually. One of the sides (Can't remember which) when I put the plug all the way into a headphone output would sound like the vocals have been taken away so it's like a karaoke setting however when I pull the plug  a little bit out it would sound just fine.

I think it was a short or something along those lines. One of my friends fixed it up for free so after wards it was good as new.

I had the same problem as rawrster, sound felt like karaoke after putting the plug all the way in.
I just sent it for a replacement, hopefully will be able to get it back soon.

seems to be a common fault - I sold my Ortos to a guy at work and about two weeks later a wiring fault developed near the jack.  Basically, if you messed around with the cabling where it went into the stress relief, you could get them working fine, but otherwise it only worked in one ear.

Ortofon is rather new to making earphones. This fault should be an easy fix though.

Ortofon  is mainly a cartridge manufacturer, even though e-Q7 were made by Japanese based ortofon who is making some expensive Premium Cables, speakers  and Hi-end phono amplifiers . By the way, just read on Japanese site Ortofon is launching their new e-Q5 in september, just in about 2 weeks or so. Price lower then its current model. 20,000 JPY or so. Let us see....

Any info on what the e-Q5 will be like?  Another moving armature, I presume?

That is what it seems like. another BA similar in many aspect to e-Q7, but modified here and there and priced lower. Now few more people should be able to afford one.
