That would be nice. but it would be nicer if the hori portable screens are already available in the market
Would be crap.... Piracy is no good.
They call it "back up" now days. ![]()
It should be trivial for Sony to block this with a firmware update and they'll make it so you can't use the online capabilities without having the newest firmware.
Not bad, but the companies are far better at telling who's playing what cracked this days. Which means most folks can expect banned online accounts (I'm going to rape Netflix when we get it here) and not to mention that it's ridiculously expensive for a mod-chip that will have you rent games to copy them... Why not just rent games and play through them?
That is great!
Not that I'm condoning piracy or anything, but what about games with lots of replay value, for instance Street Fighter or Gran Turismo? Or games that just take a lot of time to beat, like some RPGs?
But like MCC mentioned, I don't think this will too much of a hurdle for Sony. Of course, those wily homebrew devs and firmware hackers will probably figure something out, and the cycle will just continue.

The US has a lovely service called GameFly that allows game rentals with no late fees. Most folks will know if something is buying after playing it for a while (demos) and after that if you feel like you're going to go through a game, buy it.
I agree that this probably won't be an issue for Sony as it seems like it would be easy enough to detect when a game that shouldn't be playing off a HDD is playing off a HDD and when a device like that is hacking into the system. I wouldn't recommend wasting money on this over-priced mod as the second it gets busted, you're out $170 plus whatever you spent on the games you rented to bootleg.
