Need help with entry-level DAC/Amp or sound card for Denon D2000s

Hello, head-fi. First post here, but I've been browsing the forums a bit for about a month now.

I currently have a pair of Denon D2000s running straight out of my desktop's motherboard. I haven't listened to any setup other than this one and due to the lack of audiophile friends / meets / audio stores I am unlikely to. I'm new to the entire headphone / audiophilia business so I would like some help with this one.

Needless to say, my sansa fuze seems to drive my phones better than the onboard sound in terms of not only volume (my onboard likes to distort even at reasonable levels), but the overall sound quality as well.

I am looking for the overall best improvement in sound quality at a budget of around 150$ (shipped to Canada). I do not plan on upgrading in the near future (3+ years) thus this upgrade will have to last.

Currently, I am eyeing the audio-gd sparrow, but I am wondering if there are any alternatives at around the same price point which will give a better sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
