compact tube headamp, is there such a thing??

Thread Starter

i have always opted for the ss headamp beacuse of there relatively compact size.  tube head amps have always been to cumbersome for a coffee table,, at least imo.

so im curious if there are any worthy tube head amps that can fit into a small  standard rectangular chasis?

The Earmax amps are pretty compact. The Pro is pricey though. $900 Lower used if you can find it. 2.15x3.5x2.25.

It's a hybrid, but you can't get more compact than the G2/Bravo amps sold on eBay. Of the two, the G2 seems to have the more audiophile parts and sound, as well as a the ability to run more types of tubes. I really liked mine a lot, but money got tight for a bit and I'd just bought a Schiit. But now that I think about it, Maybe I should bring it back into my amp stable...

If you go via the DIY route, the Cavalli Audio CTH is also pretty small.

Though it too is a hybrid.

Another small hybrid is the Fournier tube amp.

If you go DIY, it'd be possible to stack the components vertically instead of horizontally.  That would free up a bit of space.
