How to access behind the drivers and makes things fine : AKG 242 HD

Hi all,

the question is the one in the topic, technically how to open up the cup of the AKG 242 HD and to look behind the drivers, thinking to add some foam. I've received this pair of can today (ok, little work out), and I think they are great, but bass is a little boomy. That's make sense?

I sense that putting my hand on the headphones while hearing it, make all sound a little better, bass more refined, sound little edgy, so I think I prefere a more "closed" feeling for this cup (damn, I should have buyed 272' instead...). Maybe a compromise is possible?

Meanwhile I've succesfully removed the little foam over the driver, and I think it opened up the treble, no harshness (the less volume, the better), which is very good considering a little lack of clearness in the beginning. Well, if someone possess a can of the 240's familys and can help, here is the place!

Thanks a lot

The sound will change over the burn in process.

Yes, you are right, I should wait a few weeks to see how it changes.

But in the end, it could be possible?

There's always "Duct Tape"!  I'm just joking Emanuel, they'll be ok, just enjoy them!
