For sale are two uncased AlienDACs that I recently built and tested. I bought boards and ICs for this DAC maybe four years ago, during one of the group buys. They sat in my basement until I decided to start working on a GrubDAC+SSMH this summer, so I picked up the rest of the parts and practiced my SMD soldering technique on these Aliens. The two that I am selling right now worked with zero debugging - in other words, I do not foresee any potential issues.
Specs:
Elna RFS Silmic IIs - 47uF 35V in positions C23/C33 (tombstoned), 10uF 35V in positions CL/CR.
Nichicon HZ 1500uF, 6.3V in position C2
United Chemi-Con 47uF 10V in position C13
Most of the rest of the parts were sourced in this BOM - http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tqYZPI8B3bdfGhcQVQTnyjg&output=html
These are the regulated USB version, adjusted to around 4.8V, if I remember correctly.
YOU WILL NEED:
some form of output (either a mini jack, or two RCA jacks. I have soldered wires to the outputs)
a case (ideal case is a Hammond 1455C801, but these will fit into any altoids-tin sized case)
LEDs (non-essential; I have low-brightness orange LEDs I can add if you want).
your own USB A-B cable (I don't have any to spare
)
If you don't have any DIY chops, contact me and we can work things out. I just didn't case it up to give the end user some choices.
For all intents and purposes these two are identical - same exact parts, same soldering method, same solder, same flux, etc etc. I am asking for parts price + shipping to you, which should end up around $OLD.

Thanks for looking!
