Question about Stax SRM-007tII

Thread Starter

I bought a used Stax SRM-007tII,

and found that for fthe volume knob, the upper knob (L) can not rotate over 360 degree, it has a lower limit and upper limit.

while the lower knob (R) I could keep rotating it over and over without any obstacles.

Is it normal? This is my first Stax amp so I have no idea.

Thanks to anyone who answering this question.

With an RK27 pot you should never get more than around 300°of rotation.  Now on these Stax amps the L knob is press fitted onto the shaft while the R part is fixed with a set screw.  This is loose on your amp but the bad news is that is is a pain to get at the set screw and you have to remove most of the front panel to access it...
