akg k271 mkii vs akg k272hd

These appear to be the same headphone why is the k271 mkii nearly $100 less?  If they are the same obviously I will just get those.. but just wondering.  Also if any one has any other recommendations for similar cans wouldn't mind hearing them!

Also if anyone has these and can recommend me a good headphone amp to go with them that would be much appreciated.  Probably will be using my computer and stereo receiver as sources but mainly the computer.

Thanks,

Neil

Because the 271 are on the way out, so they have clearance prices. You'll notice that many of the "old" AKG can be found for very good price these days: I myself bought a k601 BNIB for $149.

nokelly, maybe you can ask the company about the differences between them.
