Folks, I've been looking into an upgrade for my AC '97 Realtek soundcard + Harmon Kardon receiver to power my AKG 702s, and possibly some Denon AH-7000s a bit down the road. From what I've read on here, it seems like the Audio-GF Fun is worth a try. I checked out their website as well as Pacific Valve, and I can't help but notice there is a pretty big price spread between the two. Pacific Valve has the Fun for $398, shipping included, while the Audio-gd website lists 205-345 plus 55 bucks shipping.
Question 1: Why does the Audio-gd website have a $140 spread on the prices? I see that there are different modules for the DAC/Amp, so is that was is driving the price difference? Obviously cheaper is better, so just trying to straighten out the apparent price difference. If there are different models of the Fun available, could someone just give me an overview of the difference?
Question 2: How the heck do I actually order from Audio-gd's website? I went to the "Purchase" tab, and that led me to a simple little chart "Select goods -->Post remittance-->Confirm remittance (by E-mail) --> Deliver goods" that doesn't quite fill in all the blanks for me. I saw a few bank accounts listed and then a PayPal account (my preferred), but nothing else helpful. If anyone has experience buying through them, please direct me as to what I have to do, since buying through Pacific Valve is gonna cost me lots of extra money. Thanks for the time.
