FS - Microsonic Epic X IEM

LNIB, or close to it.  Microsonic is one of the world's leading full-service ear-mold laboratories.  Started in 1964, it designs state of the ear pieces, sells hearing-aid supplies and makes both universal and custom IEMs.  The Epic X is a single-driver BA, but one that performs surprisingly well.

These units are extremely small, as small as the Etymotic Er4.  I'm not in love with the tips (I prefer the Shure Olives) but the nozzles actually swivel and the cables are detachable.  The connectors are bent at a 90 degree angle, which is helpful when plugging them into iPods and computers because they rest flush rather than sticking out.

These are very low-profile earpieces.  Their shape reminds me of the TF10 but with a significantly smaller form factor.  The stress-relief is very good.  The cable is lightweight and with minimal microphonics.  It's more durable (and more tangle-resistant) than the Westone cable but more agile than the standard cables from Shure or UE.

These come with a pouch and filter removal tool which stores filters in its base.

Soundwise, these have solid, tight, bass without overwhelming the presentation.  Although you can alter the presentation with at least five different kinds of filters (which Microsonic actually sells), I'd characterize the presentation as fairly balanced.  The highs are not as sparkly as the Etymotics Er4 but the bass is better.  The rolled-off highs reminded me of the SE530.  You get the treble energy, with a surprising amount of detail, but without the excess that produces fatigue.  It didn't take me long to achieve a seal, which is necessary to get the full effect.

BNIB, these sell for $249 but since I'm the second owner, I'll knock 50% off  and sell them for $125 CONUS.
