In need of a "cable man"

Thread Starter

Hi, i am looking for a man that has a great deal of experience on building cables(power cables, recabling headphones). I will pay commision.

Don't want no commission as you're welcome to drop Peter a line over at Double Helix Cables and see what's up.  I'm currently using one of his custom HD650 headphone cables that I love for both looks and sound enhancing quality.

I might be able to help you, I've made some cables. I'm looking to get into making customs.

???

Cables are stupid as these voltages, maybe if we were dealing with a mile of cable or 100mv then it'd matter.

Based upon your post above in another thread, why would you write your above?

???

In another post you wrote that you make cables for durability but you don't believe in them as a sonic improvement.  As a suggestion, if you're going try and drum up some business, a little bit of disclosure to the customer as to your intent is a good thing.

You're right I should disclose that I don't believe in magical cables, but I build them well, so if you're still interested, cifani090, I'll make you a good set of cables, for whatever you need, at a good price. (If it means anything to you, I use silver teflon wire and cardas solder)

This is what you'll get from me: A quality cable, to your specs

This is what you won't get from me: Cryo treating and empty promises at a high price.

Add Me To Peter's list, he made my HD650 cables....PS I usually make all of my cables...The Double Helix he made is really nice, and yes less veil in the sound to me...But for the non-cable believers I'll just say for their benefit "THEY SURE LOOK PRETTY"

Oh... I get it! to make them go away we just pretend to agree.

"Yeah they sure look good, sounds the same though!"  WINK!

I have seen though your ruse.

Haha. No, really, I just bought a pair of interconnects and speaker cables.

Why do they charge hundreds of dollars for cables?  Get copper wire, overplated with zinc if on a boat in salt water, solder to connectors, done.  I have some small RF triaxial cable the military uses.  Great stuff, if anyone wants to pay a guzillion dollars for it.

In the past they use to teach skin effect, all signals traveled on the outside of the copper wire.  Is this still considered true?

P.S> Not talking about wave-guides at all
